The staff was amazing. However, the food options at the buffets were no good. In order to have a “decent” meal you have to make reservations at the theme restaurants. Also, the drinks are “all inclusive” but only for the cheap liquor. To get mid grade liquors like Patron, Malibu or Jack , you have to be a “Gold member”. Other than that. It was a pleasant experience.

We weren’t even able to check in because I have a service dog. I had called prior to booking if they allowed service dog.. they had said yes as long as we had documentation. Which I did! The lobby was so busy and chaotic - I’m glad we didn’t stay. The staff was rude. Imagine I had fly down for the weekend… This hotel doesn’t deserve any stars

The property and the area around the property is extremely safe. My family and i rented a glof cart and drove all over the compound. We found hidden parks and beaches. We left the resort and ventured out almost eveyday

In most, I liked the place! The staff is awesome, friendly, and professional. The entertainment team made the day go fast, very fun. The restaurants also were great. My concern is about the beach, rocky and the water was not clear. Is it possible to removes the rocks, so it’s easier for us to go to the water and enjoy?

We were genuinely impressed! We have been to many resorts and truthfully this was one of our favourites! I have a life threatening allergy to some foods and they were so helpful! The chefs even came out to meet me and they made an allergy card! I was truly grateful! The food was awesome! We also loved snorkelling and renting a golf cart! So fun!!!! The only thing we didn't like is that we paid good money for two rooms of equal value ( the second one for our adult kids). The second room was not nearly as nice as our first one ( even though it cost the same). The door wouldn't lock and it was clearly a lower scale room. We requested a change and they said we would be without a room for most the day ( between 11am and 3) in order to swap, so we settled. Other than that, the resort was amazing!!!

Primeramente el servicio exrerior en ninguna area exicte ,en los restaurants ppr lo general malo,no estaban pendiente de nada,salvo en alguno en 2 steakville y en blove,buena atencion Ivan ( steakbille) Arturo y Carlos (ayuda a los huspedes) las habitacion no estaba mala ,limpieza mala,,,solo limpian lo elemental,no soy tomador pero los bares abren a las 10:00 am y cierran a las 2:00 pm incluyendo el pricipal ,cerca de la recepcion,la playa un desastre,la mantenian con mucho efuerzo limpia,pero demasiadas rocas y dificil accseso ,en general no les recomiendo este hotel,la comida no estaba mala pero no variedad,quesos y jamones bien limitada,espacio pequen̈o,

We COMPLETELY enjoyed our stay, as we enjoyed the Romance Suite with Privilege classification. The staff were all phenomenal (concierge, bartenders, waitstaff, and spa employees). The food options were above average, and the room was cozy! We would definitely consider returning. This was my second stay at a Catalonia property and seek them out whenever feasible.

a little smaller resort so it made it easier to get fom one spot to another. Could use another pool or try and make some bigger. a lot of small children in the swim up bar pool and the near by "party pool".buffet food was good but not a lot of variety.

We just returned from our second year in a row at Catalonia Riviera Maya, and overall, it was another great vacation! The resort continues to impress with its beautiful setting, multiple pools, and plenty of bars and lounging areas to relax in throughout the day. The highlight, once again, was the service and food — the staff is consistently friendly and helpful, and the à la carte restaurants were outstanding. Special mention to the BLoved Restaurant, which was truly amazing, and The Grill, which served up some really great meals. One downside this time was that it was almost impossible to get reservations at the à la carte restaurants, even with Privilege status. Luckily, we managed to book a couple on the first day, but after that, everything was booked up fast. As for the room, it was okay — we probably won’t book one with a sofa bed again, as it wasn’t the most comfortable. We also had a couple of days without hot water, though the water temperature was still tolerable, so it didn’t affect us too much. Despite a few hiccups, the hospitality, food, and overall atmosphere made for a great stay. We’d still recommend this resort, especially for the food and service — just try to book your restaurant reservations as early as possible!

Our stay at the Catalonia was overall very good. The staff are amazing, truly made the experience better, especially Ivan at the steakhouse. The food was eh, your best bet is to make sure you have reservations at the restaurants for dinner every night, the buffet is mid at best. The pools were all warm. Granted, July is very hot there but I felt as if I had no way to cool down from the extreme heat, since the ocean wasn't very swim-able either. We stayed in privileged romance, which comes with many perks. I don't think I would stay here if we hadn't done the privileged room. Definitely worth paying a little extra!
