The property is beautiful and convenient to the beach but far from the city. The food in the buffet is bland and there isn’t much of a rotation in the buffet. There are flies around the cold food section and they don’t refill the chaffing dishes unless you tell them.

During my stay, we did not have electricity for a full day. In addition,we contacted guest service for something, but nobody showed up to help us. Every night there was a show in theater and a performance in Spanish in a bar. We speak English, so we did not enjoy the second super loud performance in Spanish. Our room was located above the bar, so this performance was so bothering. The are around the hotel is beautiful. The hotel beach is NOT private and there are lots of vendors on the hotel's beach that violate the guests privacy. The food in some restaurants is great but in some, for example Italian restaurant is terrible. Except our experience with guest service, staff are good. The food's quality in Buffet was not great. Their menu is repetitive and includes cheap foods. Some guests are very loud and hotel's management does not control them and this is really bothering in bars and pools.

We stayed at this hotel with high expectations, but unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. One full day during our stay, there was no electricity. This affected everything — we couldn’t use any facilities, and the day was essentially wasted. For a family on a costly plan, this was very frustrating. I believe guests should be compensated for such a major disruption. We also had a bad experience at Capri Restaurant. I ordered food, but the waiter mistakenly gave it to another table and never brought anything for me. Since other dining options were also unavailable that night, I ended up having no dinner — which is unacceptable, especially at an all-inclusive resort. I also paid for a VIP room upgrade, expecting better accommodations and service. Unfortunately, the room was not noticeably better, and there were no extra services provided. In fact, due to the power outage, we received no service at all that day. Overall, I don’t feel the experience matched the promises made, and I would not recommend this hotel unless these issues are addressed.

I would never recommend this resort to any of my family n friends. The front desk reception was not helpful at all. Never made an effort to help me out and understand my situation… this resort has too many rules. I was very disappointed with the level of service i received when i first checked in. All other staff was amazing!!!

We went there together with a big group for kids’ summer vacation. The condition of the property is ok. They don’t have many activities for kids, just simple swimming pools. The food is terrible and they limited us for dining. Some staffs are nice, some are kinda racist.

I and my husband stayed for 12 days .First couple of days we hade problem with A/C . They could not fixed the issue after few attempts and so we hade to ask for other room . After day or two there was power outage for almost two days . It wasn’t fun at all with that . Pool was nice but they don’t have enough entertainment . Was kind of boring . Beach access is right there but small and they don’t have any bar on the beach as well . Public access is almost right there so people come to the beach and it is wild some days with parties. Staff was great no complaints specially few of them are hard workers like Oscar , Victor and couple more . Food wasn’t the best . They should have more flavor in the food and more chicken options . Overall we didn’t have other issues . For the price we paid it was ok .

We liked that it was 15-20 from city which made it a little a bit more peaceful. We could here wild life in the mornings when everything is much more quiet. Tours are very easy to access.

Property has lots of potential. The Premium level service was closed 50% of our stay. Power was out an entire day and the food is pretty bad. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms could use a little updating. Not really sure what we paid extra for on the premium side as it seemed mostly the same as other rooms. But the proximity to the beach and water activities was nice

We recently stayed at Barcelo Puerto Vallarta and while the location is truly stunning—with lush mountains on one side and the ocean on the other—the overall experience left us with more cons than pros, which is why we won’t be returning. The Pros: • The scenic surroundings are gorgeous. Although the ocean water isn’t as clear as Cancun, it was still enjoyable. • The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are spacious • The buffet food was decent most days. • Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and we especially appreciated Oscar Martinez, who went above and beyond. • The resort offered a few kids’ activities and one little slide in the kids’ pool area. The Cons: • No room service options unless you upgrade to premium. However, you can’t even take food from the buffet to your room, which was especially frustrating one night when our child wasn’t feeling well. You also can’t order any food or snacks to the pool chairs. • They spray pesticide every morning, creating visible smoke that drifts into guest areas. It’s supposedly for mosquitoes, but breathing that in daily didn’t feel safe or healthy. • Hot tubs are off-limits to kids, even if they’re well-behaved and supervised. • We waited 30 minutes to make a reservation for steak house then when we arrived at 7:30 (opened at 7) they only had one rib eye left. • Rooms only have showers, which makes it difficult bathing smaller kids. PS, great beach massages are down the beach by the white arches!
