We really enjoyed our stay at this resort, there were plenty of options for dining as well as swimming with our two young kids. At all times every employee was friendly, helpful, and willing to ensure we had a fantastic time from those in the restaurants to those walking the grounds to ensure it looked immaculate. I would like to call out our concierge Breilin who throughout the week was nothing short of exceptional and was always in contact offering any type of support that he could provide. Dreams Onyx was the first all-inclusive my wife and I went to and it didn't disappoint in the slightest! From a very welcoming and hospitable check-in where the lovely front desk folks welcomed us with drinks, we also got a very great deal on Preferred Access, which we really enjoyed during the duration of our trip. The resort is more family friendly, but we had access to the Breathless resort, so we went over there when we wanted to get a bit more lit! However, the entertainment was very fun at Dreams Onyx. The best part of our trip was the lovely staff throughout, the beautiful premises, the Preferred Pool relaxation and the food throughout the restaurants were delicious! Our butler, Brelin, was very helpful. I want to give a special shout out to the bartenders/servers at the Preferred pool, who were so fun and accommodating for all of our requests. Truly a highlight having fun conversations with them! My only slight complaint was the rooms were a bit shabbier than we thought, and could be cleaned a bit better, but still very, very solid! Also, I don't know what the Unlimited Vacation Club is, but their presence there seems very scammy and when you walk in, they come to you with some weird request to attend a 90-minute pitch or session for whatever they're offering and it seems very sales-pitch-like and did not appreciate that at all. Their specific staff seem sales-y and predatory. If you get accosted by them, promptly ignore them.

This is our second time coming to this resort and it did not disappoint, the staff is great, the food is amazing. Feliciano the bartender by the beach it’s amazing, he treated us like family and went above and beyond for us, he even recognized us from the first time we came, our Butler Francisco was also really good and made sure we had everything we needed

Dreams Onynx looks nice but could use some renovation of the rooms. Limited dining no 24 hour inside dining. Be careful of the Vacation Club pitch that the staff sells. Overall, we will not be coming back.

Absolutely incredible! This is a true 5 star resort. I don’t see how anyone could have a bad time here. The food, facilities, drinks, service, staff- all top tier. The food: I am vegetarian and this place is a breath of fresh air. They have actual vegetarian and vegan menus that are not just pasta or plain vegetables. THEY HAVE MEAT ALTERNATIVES!! Full line of Beyond Meat products. As someone who doesn’t eat meat this is such a huge deal. It’s the only resort in Punta Cana that I’ve stayed at that has this. It’s just so nice to have protein in my diet while on vacation besides eggs and beans. Every single thing I ate or drank at this resort was delicious. Love the cafe and that it’s open 24 hours. Craft cocktails available at all of the bars. The swim up bar in the preferred section has a coffee machine! Pool cappuccinos for the win. The best food and drink experience I’ve ever had at a resort. Room: perfect! Clean, comfortable, big. Everything worked as it should. AC was cold and adjustable. Our view was nice. Housekeeping was excellent every day. Grounds: gorgeous. The preferred pool is stunning and so is the main pool. The lazy river and water park area is soooo much fun. Everything was clean and maintained well. Nothing seemed dated or run down. They were doing construction to expand the steakhouse but they hid that well too.

We were traveling with three children the age of seven. The arcade was the best. The staff there the manager Sergio were the best. We spent hours there each day.

The rooms definitely need some updating and weren’t as clean as I expected. My sink was broken when I checked in, and there were cigarette butts left by the Jacuzzi outside that never got cleaned up. I accidentally broke a glass, and while housekeeping picked up the glass itself that was left on the table,they left the broken pieces on the floor. The food was pretty mediocre overall. That being said, I have to give credit where it’s due — every staff member I interacted with was amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The service really stood out, even though the facilities fell short.
