I am berry disappointed. I am frequent RIU customer. I have visited all most all RIU properties in Mexico whit wonderful experience. However RIU República is a nightmare. This place should be warned to responsable adults. This not a place to relax and enjoy some peace and rest. I will never came back nor recommend this property.

I was here for 5 days had no hot water, kept asking them to fix the hot water they didn’t. My toilet stopped working twice. There were roaches crawling around even found some in my room. Also it was my birthday they said they were going to give me something for my birthday, I never received it. The drinks were horrible after like 11 in the night. Everytime I went to the pool they said they ran out of towels and they stole my money. Staff were very nice and patient and food was not good.

The staff is amazing, my room was cleaned every day, the scene is very alive and fun. If you've seen people complaining about the food its because instead of going to the steakhouse, they miss dinner napping off booze and then go to the 24 hour snack bar which is obviously not gonna be great. the snack bar sandwich's are the best thing but if you go at 3am after everyone has left the club drunk and hungry theres no more. If you go to the restaurants for dinner you'll have no complaints.

Some of the staff was very helpful, kind, and provided great service. Those were the staff I made a point to tip. However, overall the staff was rude, curt, and/or ignoring service unless actively sought out. The food wasn't good except for one Asian/sushi restaurant. The highlight of the resort was by far the entertainment at the main stage each night. The performers were phenomenal and exciting to watch. I did like the beach access and how well kept the beachfront was maintained.

If you are looking to party, but aren’t concerned about anything else - this is the resort for you. If you want a room with working AC, GOOD tasting food options, and well maintained hotel rooms and pools…spend the extra money and go somewhere else. The saying “you get what you pay for” rings true here. With that said, the staff are lovely, the grounds are huge and well maintained, and they will do their best to entertain you.

Food and drinks wasn’t the best but the people you meet and the staff on the property make up for any flaw that may be in the property itself. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Buffet keeps you filled !

This property is in need of updating both rooms and facilities. The food options are also not very good. The rooms are below average but not awful and the cleaning ladies work hard.
