Okay it was the room I had roaches, bugs on the sheets… everytime they changed the sheets it came back with either makeup stain The walls everything was sweaty. It had my room stink!! Smelled like MOLD, the shower head was MOLDY The ac vent machine leaks on people !!!!! & staff never knock they jus WALK IN!!!

Check in was unorganized. I was not given a towel card. I was not given a tropical view so I had to change rooms. My new room was infested with ants and mosquitoes. Maintenance just handed me a bottle of raid. Most of the food was undercooked and nasty. The snack bar food was disguisting. They served raw hotdogs and ham and cheese sandwiches. I did not like that the swim up bar closed at 6 on a Saturday. None of the elevators worked except in the main building.

The room AC did not work properly. The back door in the room had a broken lock which was a hazard being in the first floor. Neon party did not have transportation provided from hotel to hotel. To top it all off after check out they did not allow my transportation to pick me up in the front and told me to walk to entrance gate of hotel or they can call a taxi for me... The transportation was booked thru Expedia the same company that did the airport transport.

We had a fantastic trip. My sisters and I brought our mother to celebrate her upcoming 80th birthday. Although the property needs updating, it was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff was accommodating and very good.

Upon arriving, yaseen the front lobby registration advocate who checked us in was informed by us that we were visiting this resort for the very 1st time and that my wife and i were celebrating our 30 year anniversary. He mentioned to us that special surprise would be sent to our room 2153 and that never happened. The service and food was mediocre our entire stay. Not enough amenities and poorly entertaining shows at night.

Unfortunately I feel Riu Resorts are falling downhill, the room is unkept to date, a few things are broken such as the tv, remote, hot tub. The internet did not work, lack of customers service representatives, a lot do not speak English, lastly lack of renovation is seen on the grounds.
