Overall the resort is excellent, the room we stayed in was nice, clean, and AC was cold. I thoroughly enjoyed the private pool. The staff as with any resort are super nice. Notable servers are Andrew, Eric, Raul, Iran, (Jose, Salvador, Kenneth at the beach area). All of the concierge/welcoming committee area excellent. Shot out to Eduardo for making check in fun. My on complain room service working hours was all over the place. People would come by the room through out the day and night to clean the room verse a set time to do all at once. Also the mini bar was filled up with alcohol that I do not drink or like. Considering I paid for the Excellence upgrade, I (guests) should have option to select our own alcohol or higher/premium brands. Lasty, food was also very good for all inclusive package, much better than most other resort I've been to.

This is a hotel that is ok for a few days escape . Outside the hotel its a ghetto , two walls of security. If you dont want to leave a hotel its fine . Rooms are nice but no international tv 2 american channels FOX and CNN but very poor for a full of Americans. I speak spanish and I found it boring. Major flaw is the food its 3 star level. We found one decent restaurant Lobster Restaurant best service and food . The rest are very poor level.The Mexican restaurant , terrible slow service and I wouldnt give th food to my dog. The breakfast is ok but really the croissants are not fresh and the bread is poor quality . Butter is margarine 5 star no way. I had a better croissants on a Swiss Air Flight two days later. I dont get how bad the food is and everyone loves it. They are wrong. Dont go here for the food . If you want time with people getting drunk playing Volleyball its perfect. Hardly any evening entertainment , which was very poor considering you cant leave the hotel. Would never return .

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL resort! This was our second visit and we stayed in the same room, Excellence Club Beachfront 2 story Honeymoon Suite. Extremely clean, bed very comfortable, huge rainfall shower and spacious walk in closet, jacuzzi on balcony is open concept, and a large plunge pool on the rooftop. The views were amazing! Food at the resort is fantastic and every restaurant is a unique experience with the cuisine and ambience. The service from the staff is top notch! We will be returning to Excellence Coral as soon as we can!

I liked the curb appeal and aesthetic of Coral. It was definitely evident that it was newly constructed. We just felt that the staff and their service was at times inconsistent. I don’t want to go into detail about that because it seems unfair to. There was a lot of staff members and many and most did a great job. Some parts and aspects of the hotel seemed confusing and miscommunicated… some parts felt over explained and other parts under explained - we didn’t really appreciate the fact that some aspects of the hotel were blocked essentially by what I’d call a “paywall” - it’s described as an all-inclusive experience but when you get there, our receptionist explained something along the lines of “there is a VIP program which gets you a room with a pool and access to more services but well, you already have a pool room and we are actually at capacity for the VIP so you don’t need it” I was like, “oh ok” it just so happened to be the first restaurant my family and I try to eat at is yes, VIP. So it just doesn’t feel good to get that kind of treatment after your fly into MX, go through customs, take a cab and then get where you want to be and get told “no” it’s a bit odd for an all-inclusive. And then the next day on the phone, they switched the narrative and said, “oh no, you have full access except for this one restaurant” overall, it felt a bit convoluted at times.

Beautiful property, very clean. The best Excellence resort we've stayed at, we've been to almost all of them including Finest as well. The room was very comfortable, was cleaned twice daily and restocked. We enjoyed all of the dining options, favorite was Chez Isabelle (French) - an outstanding fine dining experience with chic ambiance. For lunch we enjoyed Agave (Mexican), Lobster house and Oregano (Italian). Kitchen table served excellent buffet for breakfast. We also dined at The Grill (excellent), Raices (Mexican - excellent) and Milo (Greek - excellent). Service at all restaurants was exceptional. Cannot comment on any drinks as we did not visit the bars but people looked like they were enjoying themselves. Coffee shop was nice with good drink and snack options and also tasty ice cream. Pools were heated and never felt crowded. The beach is nice, comparable to other parts of Playa Mujeres beach. Water was warm in October and we were in the ocean daily. Great gym, used it daily, has lots of equipment and machines. Entertainment was ok, nothing special but we didn't need it. Would definitely like to come back here, great resort and a fantastic addition to this beach strip.
