The hotel is nice. Buffet breakfast was awesome. All the staff were great! They really put the hotel over the top. The concierge George was the best. Nancy in housekeeping was so sweet.
Westin Dragonara is a lovely hotel in a prime location on the peninsula looking out across St. Julians and the Med. Really enjoyed our stay, rooms very comfortable, quiet and well maintained. Most staff were very friendly and meals were good but a little expensive. Downsides are, right outside hotel Paceville continues to be a building site with large cranes spoiling the skyline and roads dug up everywhere, so noisy and dusty. Sign of the times I guess with corruption and greed destoying this once beautiful island. All the traditional properties are being bulldozed and its 'high rise city' everywhere you go. Majority of staff are Indian / Asian so you don't hear the lovely Maltese accent filling the air anymore, all tough to accept when your partner was born in Malta.
Lovely hotel with full amenities as described. Within walking distance of great restaurants and stores. Public to Valletta clean, modern and safe stops next to hotel. Directly on the Mediterranean. Rooms large and bedding comfortable. Excellent cleanliness and super helpful staff.
Would recommend it for a relaxing stay in Malta.
Everything was 5 stars, best hotel i have stayed in and ive travelled a lot and stayed in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Australia and South Africa, this was fabulous.
The hotel is at a great location in the st Julian city. Despite being close to the party area, as soon as you enter the hotel you cannot really hear any noises. We had a great stay here for our Easter break, all the staff (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant) are polite and helpful, our sea view room was spacious, the view from the balcony was great. We also enjoyed dinning at the onsite restaurant “Quadro”.
There were a few areas we thought could have been better:
• The toilet had bad smells a few days perhaps due to some sewage issues.
• The hotel website had outdated information (we saw “Cheese and wine on Thursdays” on the website and went to the lobby bar, been told by a member of staff that they no longer serve this anymore, they are aware that the website needs to be updated but it hasn’t been done yet).
• The walls/door were a bit too thin. Me and my husband were waken up pretty much every morning by the sound from the young children’s play next door.
Other than these our stay was generally pretty good hence giving 5 stars overall.
Great hotel. Huge rooms. Clean and modern.
Immediate surrounding area is a bit “under development”, but loads of shopping, dining and drinking options on your doorstep.
Very easy to get an uber to anywhere you want, but if you like a longer walk along the coast there is a promenade that takes you almost all the way to the ferry to Valletta.
Great gym, great views. Food in the main buffet restaurant is excellent. Heated pool. Would stay there again
We have just had an absolutely fabulous stay at Dragonera, staff very friendly and helpful the hotel itself is spotless and we dined at the lounge restaurant 3 of our 5 nights as the food was excellent. The outdoor heated pool was much needed as weather could still be a bit chilly. Overall would highly recommend.
Clean and tidy hotel. Professional staff, great hospitality, good food. Plenty restaurants to choose from, also close to town for an abundance of restaurants and bars. 20-30 mins from airport, heated pool, full gym and spa with indoor pool. Casino across the road… parking available if required!
