Quebec visit

The location was great. Positive points: 1.Close to main landmarks and walking distance to others attractions and restaurants. 2. Shower with hot water. Negative points: 1.The hotel condition is outdated including the room decor. No elevators so you need to carry your suitcase to your room. I was on the 3floor. 2.WiFi not working well every minute it will go out. 3. Towels and bed linen need improvement. I have to give credit that the location was the best part next to the park planes of Abraham. The hotel is located in a busy street area in front of the hotel crossing the street they are benches were I sat just to wait the people walking up and down the street. I felt safe in the area. Warning Quebec is a walking city bring your walking shoes. The hip on and off bus was fanstatic I took the 2 day pass and made great use of it.

very old building, no reception just like an old apartment. furniture is old and run down. Still charge above rate. Next door hotel is much better at least has real person in front desk. Not recommend

This place was average at best. Not really a "hotel".. no front desk, no lobby, no daily housekeeping. You enter the building and walk up a staircase and your at the hallway with the rooms. Our room was clean, but had no window which it made it feel even smaller and claustrophobic. The bathroom was clean but tiny. Simple things were missing like a suitcase stand. The pictures online were deceiving.

The location was perfect and the experience of staying in a historical building dating back to 1845 was special. The family room was large, clean and comfortable. The circular staircase for three flights was a bit of a challenge, but we were up for it!

This property is staff-less. The codes for front door and room door are sent on the day of arrival. Our room was located on the top floor. Three sets of spiral stairs to reach room. Extremely difficult with 45lb bags to carry. No elevators or assistance available. Arrived early and wanted to leave luggage somewhere safe. Only location that was somewhat secure was on third floor. left our bags but felt uneasy about vulnerability. Fortunately, they were ok for the 3 hours. When we were able to access the room it was ample in size and clean. Big bathroom for our room #7 but rooms on the lower floors were not as spacious. There was a coffee maker with pods and condiments but no water. Needed to purchase our own. When we tried accessing the internet, it constantly dropped. Even worse for TV. All channels broke up or froze every 15 seconds or so and stay frozen for about the same amount of time. Then it would either recover or TV would reboot which took about 5 minutes. The welcome text that we received provided us with a phone number in the event of needed support. We called this number several times but it went straight to a recording. No option to leave a message.Used Wi-Fi to reach Expedia portal to leave message.received response much later telling us we needed to contact cable company ourselves. We did to no avail. Reached out again on portal but it seemed they blocked us and we got “cannot connect” more to say but limited text. They were rude and unhelpful. Never Again

Good things: Great location in walkable area, nice looking building exterior, quick response by sms with the property manager. Bad things: Room was cleaned poorly (used tissues under the bed, hair and dust on the floor.) Poorly functioning drains with bad smell in the bathroom. The air conditioner and refrigerator are just an old junk which not functioning properly.

Good Quads and Lungs Required!

Ah, where do I begin? Imagine a thrilling quest where your first challenge is finding parking—any parking—just to drop off your bags. Bonus points if you don't end up in a loading zone. Once you've completed the “Urban Parking Gauntlet,” prepare yourself for Stage 2: the epic stair climb. It’s a long, winding ascent that feels like you're trekking to the summit of Mount Everest—except with more echoes and questionable carpet. Oxygen tank not included. And then, at last, the grand reward: a room so tiny, even your suitcase looks cramped. The photos must’ve been taken with a fisheye lens... in 1997. The decor? Think “charmingly worn,” if charm were optional. Now, to be fair, the location is fantastic. Like, "you-can-stumble-to-everything" fantastic. So if your main goal is to explore and only return to your room to collapse in exhaustion (after your quad workout on the stairs), this place might just be your low-budget Everest base camp.

Very good location

Very good location. I didn't notice it's an hotel without reception desk, so obviously there's no services on site. A garbage bag was left open beside the front door and stayed there for a while... Other than that, our 2 rooms were quite large and clean. Overall I would recommend this place as the price is fair.

The Location was great ; that's the main asset. Shower was old, small and drain was very slow evacuating the water. Insonorisation was not the best. Bed was okay, place was clean overall but room didn't had space to lay luggage. Convenient for very short stays.

The location was excellent and within walking distance to the restaurants and historical sites. Room was spacious and clean. The mini fridge in the room was convenient. Something to be aware of if you're booking this location is there are a short flight of stairs to enter the building and spiral stairs to get to the rooms on the upper levels.

Very bad experience in room #8. As we entered we could smell a mouldy odor. We turned on the air conditioner and realized that was the cause. There is surely mold inside the unit. We had to check out the next morning due to my allergic reaction to mold. Management refused to refund my other 6 nights that were booked. They offered another room but I could not take the chance because of my allergy to mold which affects my breathing. Not to mention the hairs in the sheets (but that was the least of my worries).

Excellent stay at this Auberge (2 adults & 2 preteens). It was close to everything we needed, clean, spacious and safe. We never did get the chrome cast to work, but we have no complaints. Would definitely book this place again on our next Québec City visit.
