This was a great hotel. Super updated and awesome furnishings, really cute. It was very quiet in our room. The amenities were overall good but we could have used a little more variety in the morning hot drinks, and the sink was a bit clogged. Nothing terrible. Overall a great experience. Would stay here again for sure.
Enjoyable stay at an affordable room near Taos. Pleasant and accommodating check-in. Floor could have used a mopping but it's hard to keep up with all the tourist traffic. Would absolutely stay here again.
It looked to me like the lodge was in the middle of, or had recently completed an upgrade. Our room was in great shape though we never got the TV to work. That wasn't an issue, however, since we weren't there to watch TV! They'd just upgraded the locks on the door to use a PIN instead of key and that worked out very well. There were sufficient pillows, the bed was pretty comfortable, the shower pressure was good and the water was hot.
Of note, the lodge is not "in" Taos so be prepared for a short-ish drive to get to downtown Taos if that's why you are visiting.
The lodge is right next to the main road but wasn't overly noisy. The area felt safe and I noticed security cameras watching the parking lot. It isn't a big property and you might look twice at it but it was freshly painted, renovated, clean, and safe.
I was promised a ten percent discount because the tv wasn’t working. I never saw the discount, nor did the property respond to my message. Had to use earplugs because of the highway noise. Room code didn’t match the email I was sent. Floor was dusty. I wouldn’t stay there again.
A hotel representative offered me a full refund ($109.59) because the property was experiencing issues with its TV service. I accepted and stayed elsewhere, but Hotels.com was unavailable to help me or the nice desk clerk complete the transaction. Customer support at Hotels.com has deteriorated to the point of being non-existent. Therefore, after a decade of being a faithful customer, I will no longer use them to book hotel rooms for any future travels.
It was clean, except outside areas had a lot of debris in stairwell area. The bed was very firm.
My main complaint is that at check-in we were told the tv service was not working (which really wasn't a big deal) they offered a 15% discount for the inconvenience. Since we booked through a 3rd party, they said we had to go through the 3rd party to get the refund. When we contacted the 3rd party, they tried for 3 days to contact the property and the discount was denied. I don't appreciate the dishonesty from the staff. That was very uncool. Don't make promises you don't intend to keep. Also, there was very little staff presence after check in time. No one was present in the evening or morning.
This is NOT the accomodation in the listing or photographs. this is a motel not the tiny home airstream area. they are not related. The floor was sticky and had dirty footprints on it. the flooring in the bathroom was broken at the edge and had a crazy mound ramp thing in the middle of the bathroom to get into the shower. can hear every word and footstep from other rooms. They tried to make it look updated but nothing is done right the water takes 15 minute's to heat up they literally have a sign about it and the shower knob is loose so the only spot for decent temp wont stay out so enjoy hot or cold. seemed to be one thing after another... really mostly upset that it was soooo misleading. would have booked literally anywhere else.
I stayed for two weeks. When I booked, I was hoping the pictures of the kitchenette I saw were in the room to help keep costs of buying food down. But the kitchen is in the same small building as reception. One kitchen for 26+ rooms and not open early enough to make breakfast. So that was a swing and a miss.
Also, I have never thought to look for a desk in a list of hotel amenities because I have never been in a hotel room without a desk before. Two weeks with only and a chair is a long time.
Finally, the walls are paper thin. Thankfully mosts guests were respectful but if anyone was having a conversation on the balcony or in the parking lot I could hear every word.
So it wasn't what I wanted, but it's not horrible. Perfectly acceptable for short stays or if you have your own camper or something. But if you're gonna be in Taos longer than a weekend you'll probably want something with more amenities.
