Needs refurbishment and staff training.

Hotel is located conveniently but it is a fair walk from bus stop 8 (where Flybus will drop you) over cobbled streets so beware those lugging large suitcases. it has a decent sized rooms but the bathroom was unbelievably tiny and difficult to use. Just imagine a radiator so close to the toilet that you are afraid of burning yourself while doing your business. And the shower cubicle leaves no room for bending over to wash legs and feet. See picture. The mattresses are in need of replacement. you sink totally when you lie down and then get buried by an unreasonably heavy duvet / comforter. Finally very poor attitude of wait staff at breakfast time as well as poor service. The fresh bread had run out by 9 and the alternative of packages bread was not put out on platters to make easy serving. instead one had to fish for it inside the bag.We had to ask for the beans and coffee to be replenished. The beans were dumped out cold from a can and not warmed up. The coffee was lukewarm temperature. You would expect this most basic things in a 4 star property to be done properly. This is a hotel with potential but clearly failing in key areas. Read the most current reviews before booking to see if things improve or look elsewhere.

Hotel is close the Hallgrimskirkja church and great restaurants (Babalu for breakfast, Salka Valka kitchen for sourdough pizza, and Reykjavík fish and chip restaurant). Has a loading zone to unload luggage in front and you can easily park your car on side streets with Parka app. Snaps the on site restaurant has great food as well. Love the staff there since they are friendly, courteous and great resource for local places. Their recommendation for the natural history museum and the ice bar were spot on. Highly recommend. Loved that they had an elevator.

Beautiful property and centrally located to shops, restaurants, church and an ice bar. Easy parking with the Parka app. Unloading zone for your luggage in front of the hotel. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Only drawback is the small stand up shower.

Hotel Odinsve was felt like a home away from home while I was in Iceland. The room was very comfortable with an amazing view - I even saw the Northern Lights from my balcony!

One of the reasons I booked this property was for the VIP status but we were not offerer nor received any benefits. We waiting 3 hours fornour room to get cleaned at checkin yet it was cleaned within the hour of leaving. Staff was rude and dismissive when we asked for early/late check in/out. The rooms space was perfect for our family of four but we had a love/hate relationship with being on the ground floor right off the lobby (nice to get into easy but could be loud and passerby could see in). Room was warm, clean, and very comfortable.

The hotel is very convenient and close to everything so no need for taxi. The room is a good size, very clean, comfortable bed . Staff are nice and always accommodating. My main complaint is that the bathroom is small and the shower area only has a cloth to close around it so surrounding areas get wet pretty much when in use. The window also had so much condensation because it was near a heater and causes window sill to be wet too. It would also be great for their hotel rooms to maybe have a small fridge and a microwave; we had tours planned throughout our stay and would buy food the day before to prepare. Overall, hotel odinsve was a good place to stay in Reykjavík.
