Welcome to Morton House, a beautifully restored 17th-century Grade II listed farmhouse in the heart of Masham, North Yorkshire—perfectly located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park and surrounding areas.

This spacious and characterful large holiday cottage blends historic charm with modern comfort, featuring exposed beams, original stone floors, wood burners and relaxed sitting areas. Sleeping up to 9–10 guests across four bedrooms, it’s ideal for family holidays, group getaways, walking retreats, and countryside escapes.

Situated just off Masham’s picturesque market square, the house is within easy walking distance of traditional pubs, tearooms, independent shops, and the town’s famous breweries, Theakston and Black Sheep. Masham is a vibrant market town with a history dating back to 1393, still hosting weekly markets and offering easy access to scenic walking and cycling routes, as well as nearby attractions such as Fountains Abbey and Jervaulx Abbey.

Morton House has been thoughtfully renovated to retain its original character while offering all the comforts of a modern stay. The accommodation includes a large loft master suite with a king-size bed, single day bed, and en-suite bathroom; a superking bedroom a double bedroom, and a twin room with en-suite shower. All bedrooms are fitted with high-quality mattresses, soft cotton bed linens, and non-feather bedding for added comfort.

On the ground floor, there are two inviting living spaces: a formal sitting room with Chesterfield sofas and wood burner, and a cozy TV lounge with wood-burning stove, large flat-screen TV, SKY movies and sports. To the rear, a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with a range cooker, double oven, dishwasher, microwave, and all the utensils needed for home cooking, along with a separate utility area featuring a fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, and downstairs WC.

Outside, guests can enjoy an enclosed shared courtyard garden (shared with The Stable Block) ideal for relaxing after a day exploring. The garden is fully fenced, making it suitable for children and dogs, and there is convenient on-street parking directly outside the property.
