Nightstand lamp had a short. Took it to the front desk for a replacement, but woman said I wasn’t turning the switch hard enough. I finally got it lit, but it turned off again. This time I called & was told again I wasn’t turning the switch hard enough & I should have my husband help me. Seriously. I said it just wasn’t working. She said we could switch rooms. I said let’s borrow a lamp from that other room instead. She said we couldn’t, we just needed to move, because then she could clean our current room if we traded & resell it for that night. Crazy, huh? So switch rooms or deal with no lamp. We’d unpacked so we stayed. Next morning I took the lamp back to the front desk so they’d know they needed to fix it. Worker said they’d give me a refund because of the problem, even though I hadn’t asked. Nice. She came toward me with it, but then left. Returned with less. Bizarre. She said that made her cash reserve too low, but then she left again & returned with right amt. Housekeepers were there waiting for her, so I conveniently gave each a tip from the refund. On our way out, new desk guy scolds me for “disrespecting him” by giving the “hotel’s” money to housekeepers. I said it was my money & my choice. Then he changed story: it was ok to leave it in the room, but not to give it there. Bottom line, every chance staff had to create a positive experience they made it negative, topping it off with a hostile exchange on our way out. Why on earth would we want to return?

The hotel was pretty clean overall just outdated. The rooms need to be updated and worked on. There were holes that were patched up with just tissue paper. I need the laundry services and online it says 24 hour access but they’re actually only open from 7 am - 9pm. My kids had a soccer tournament and we didn’t get to the hotel until 8:45 pm and their following game was at 8 am so I didn’t have time to use it

New renovation and close to services

I recognized the building as a former college dormitory. It seems to be completely renovated to an hotel and price was very competitive. Front desk staff seems to be getting organized, but overall check in was good. Close to shopping and restaurants.

I’ve stayed at the Sweetwater Lodge many times for work. Because of my great experiences I decided to stay there with my family on a trip through the area. I’ve only ever had a room on the 3rd floor before, booked through Expedia, and this time having a whole family, needed a second bed and those rooms are on the 1st floor. The road noise and noise from the hallway and rooms above and the cleanliness and condition of the room was not great. Specific examples, the headboards and like drink stand with a second fridge were cream faux leather wrapped and looks like cats had made them all scratching posts. And they just looked tired and not the cleanest. The trim in the hallway was damaged in several places, like chunks missing/hanging and worst of all was my 1 year old found something that was gummy/squishy on the carpet and I had to fish it out of his mouth quickly. Finally there were 2 used contact lenses on top of the soap dispensers in the shower. The room appeared to have been cleaned but these were some bad misses. I’m not a hotel snob by any means, and I’ve truly loved every other experience at this property, but I would recommend to all to pay attention to the room you’re reserving and if it has the faux leather furniture in it, book one that has the wood only furniture. And for the property manager, I’m sorry for the negative review, but the night and day difference of your rooms and the 2 cleaning misses were not good, especially with my family traveling with me.

While the place was clean enough, the parking lot was rough, some wallpaper was peeling and it looked as if they started to remodel but didn't finish. There were zero USB ports in the room. Bathroom is clean, water was hot. Ran out of Kleenex after 2. For the price it was fine.
