Welcome to the Cardinal's Nest! Come relax at the red house in the woods nestled on 32 acres in picturesque Hocking Hills, OH offering the perfect all inclusive escape for family fun or time away with friends. This tranquil nature retreat is a balance of seclusion and convenience while being just a few minutes away from hiking trails, parks, shopping and food. Must be 25 years or older to rent. AWD/4WD recommended in all seasons.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a DVD player is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Hello, my communication with this Host was really good. Any time I had a question, they were prompt and informative. Thank you :) Firewood: 16.99 for 6 pieces was a bit much. You can purchase bundles in the area for 5.00. There were pieces that had been previously used, however were thrown over the hillside. I gathered the good pieces and continued to burn. Support the locals. Hot Tub: OOOOhhh feels SO GOOD. The cover...Due for replacement. The property is beautiful. Just a shame folks don't respect it by throwing their empties in the tree line. Wall Switches: there are a few labeled, still a hunt and flip lol. The ceiling fan in the LR, never did figure it out. Overall...no complaints. Would recommend. Even with the entrance lol Thank you so much for the this treasure. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

First of all it’s adorable and well equipped with everything we needed. Plenty of hooks and blankets and towels! Hot tub was clean. The location is a 20-30 min drive to things BUT beautifully remote and the roads and driveway after a light snow the night before were perfectly kept. We will be back.

Amenities were good. Had trouble using the code to get in, as instructions were very vague. Several remotes had missing or dead batteries. Someone did come and salt the driveway prior to an impending snowstorm, which was helpful. A number of light switches didn't appear to do anything, which was rather confusing.

This place was perfect! Arriving late in the evening, the lights were on and it felt like we were arriving at home. Large, spacious rooms exactly as pictured with lots of furnishings and utensils for cooking and baking. We had our Thanksgiving dinner here and the views and location couldn't have been better. It was discussed to celebrate other holidays here as well. Thank you!

Adorable cabin close to all of the hiking spots around Hocking Hills. Updated and modern. Kids loved the loft with the PAC-MAN machine. Hot tub was great after a long day of hiking, however, the lid is in need of repair and was hard to take on and off. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided which was a nice touch! Would recommend this cabin. Thanks!

The property did not disappoint. It was just as pictured. The beds were comfortable, the location is secluded so you canenjot the deck and hot tub. The driveway is steep and curvy , we missed it at first but figured it out.

This was a beautiful home and property. We loved the fire pit, hot tub, and large screened in porch. The large water filter pictured in the listing was not there but was not a big deal. The home was very difficult to find and the driveway was quite treacherous. The proximity was great to the town of Logan and all the best hikes in Hocking Hills. Overall, our stay was enjoyable and we would recommend Cardinal’s Nest!

Beautiful Home & Area

First of all the house is really nice! There are a lot of great little details that they thought of - and higher end furnishings. Some of these VRBO's are not that well decorated or furnished. This one is nicely funished with comfy beds! The loft area was perfect for our 4, 7 & 13 year old kids. The kitchen is nicely equiped, but the ice maker was broken and they only had 2 ice cube trays, so plan accordingly. It's not like there is a store around the corner! There are a lot of stone steps to unload your car. Also when you pull in the drive it looks like a junkyard, but you will be rewarded...once you see the Cardinal's Nest sign and head left it gets much better! Great views from the house. We saw a deer and wild turkey most evenings when we got back to the house. The hot tub is nice, as is the fire pit. The Hocking Hills area is really fun with a lot of things to do. Make sure you check out the public pool in Logan - it's really nice with a high dive, low dive, curly slide and kids play area. It's affordable and really nice. The pizza place in Logan was good. We found most of the waterfalls around Hocking Hills were almost dry but that's just the time of year - it had been dry and hot. The trails and caves and cliffs are awesome. Great trip! I would definitely stay at Cardinal's Nest again. Thanks for making things nice and easy after a full day of hiking in the heat!

Pleasant stay. Close to trails. Little bit of a rough driveway. Hot tub lid is bad and has taken on water; heavy as can be and could hardly move it on and off. Cabin was fantastic and clean.

AMAZING property— will be back!

Had an incredible stay at the Cardinal's Nest. All details were just on-point. The kids loved it as well. Loved the full kitchen utensils, pots and pans... The lower lounge area, the shower products. Everything was just beautiful.Hit a snag during check-in. Recommend upon booking to immediately contact the host for their additional check-in application. I must've missed it, or didn't receive back when I booked. When I showed up, there is no data or WiFi. Needed to drive 5 winding miles to contact the office before checking-in. Think this could've been followed up on and handled anytime before arrival.Other than that small snag, everything was just perfect. Will be back. Thanks.
