The hotel room was very tiny but so is a lot of the stuff in Europe so that was fine. The bathroom was my main problem. It just felt dirty. There was at least 1 bug a day I saw crawling on the ground. The shower was very dark and the faucet was spraying water out of places that it was not supposed to so it was definitely broken. The tile in the floor was lifted and tbh if you’re overweight you’ll have to walk sideways to get into the shower. I did appreciate that it was in the most convenient location. We walked to the Trevi fountain, pantheon, Spanish steps AND the colosseum. The AC worked proper as there were some moments where we were actually too cold so that was nice. It was a very safe area and there was always police patrolling outside so nothing to worry about. There was house keeping everyday which was nice and they had free wifi. If I came back to Rome I probably would not stay here just because I value a good bathroom. The issues with the shower and floor need to be fixed. If it was renovated I would come back. The price was very good for the location. Everything else in Rome is very expensive.

This hotel was perfectly located to explore Rome and we really enjoyed our stay there. The staff were very helpful and organised a taxi for us to get to the airport as well. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable but the shower area could use a bit of an upgrade. Overall we had a great stay there and loved the convenience to lots of the major sights in Rome.

Not worth the price we paid

Room right in front of noisy elevator. Plaster was chipping off the walls. No toilet paper in the bathroom. The room for the price was less than adequate very tiny room not at all as the picture on the website. Not sure what the “DELUXE ROOM” gave me extra over the normal room! The staff was super friendly which in my opinion was the only truly redeeming factor. In all honesty it felt like the room was thrown together at the last minute

The hotel was amazing and same with the staff, totally recommend this hotel. The only issue was the lift was so dirty and maintenance is well in needed attention, only on the outer parts of the lift. And get a new welcome mat at the entrance.

Mold. The bathroom smelled like mold and urine. There was mold on the ceiling where you sleep and mold in the shower all on the tiles and the ceiling. The bathroom literally smelled like a urinal. The hotel was not accommodating - they refused over and over to let me cancel early and did not accommodate with any other room. We wound up checking out a day early and losing money just to get my children away from the mold. expedia also tried 3x to help. The last straw was when I went back downstairs to see what was happening and that they were supposed to come and check the bathroom and they just wrote it off and said - it doesn't smell. Very unprofessional and not accommodating

The hotel is old and needs a lot of renovations. When you first walk up the red rugs are dirty and need to be replaced. The couch inside the check-in area has stains. Inside the room is smelled of old mildew. The sheets, blankets and towels are old, stained and need to be replaced. The walls inside the room are stained and it smelled so bad that we had to use room spray. The staff are nice but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Great location, walking distance to Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and friendly staff. This was our 2nd time staying here, the last was in 2019. Comfy bedding. Quiet. Lovely gentleman that helped us with our bags. After getting off a cruise and dealing with crowds and a hectic train ride, then crazy cab ride through Rome to get to the hotel, it was a relief to have such a warm welcome when we arrived. They had gluten free bread which is a big plus at breakfast and good coffee. I was a bit disappointed that they contacted us a week before our stay and wanted our CC or they were going to cancel our stay, we promptly emailed back saying that we were in the middle of a cruise out on the Mediterranean with no cell service. So then I was able to use a cruise staff members phone and call them and the guy at Colonna said that I needed to call back the next day that he couldn’t help. I wish they could have just waited until our actual stay or anytime in the previous year that we had it reserved - we were only staying for 2x nights. It put a dampener on our trip and caused a lot of angst and irritation while we were trying to enjoy our cruise. Please note that they only supply 2x room keys. We had my husbands daughter stay with us as well and the constant swapping of keys made us lose them all the time, as did the other group we were with that also had 3x in their room. All in all it was a wonderful, comfortable, convenient stay and we will recommend it to anyone going to Rome.

This is my third time staying here and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It is in a prime location- near to almost everything you want to see in Rome. The hotel is in a safe and quiet location. The staff is kind, professional, accommodating, and helpful. I will continue to choose this location for all of my return visits to Rome.

Highly recommend a stay here! Perfect location, only minutes from both The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Everything is within easy walking distance. The whole property is kept spotlessly clean and the excellent air conditioning was a saviour in the July heat. Lovely breakfast buffet. One of the best things about this hotel though has to be the staff. Every staff member we came across was friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful from giving us advice, making taxi and restaurant bookings to making us lovely coffees every morning! Thank you to you all for a wonderful stay for our anniversary.

Great Location small hotel

Hotel Colonia del Corso is in an excellent location—just minutes from the Trevi Fountain, Via del Corso, and many great restaurants. The staff was generally very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Clarissa, who was especially kind and gave us great recommendations for cool spots around Rome. However, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it’s not really a traditional hotel. There’s no lobby or elevator, and we were charged an extra €30 for checking in just 1.5 hours early. That was excessive We had an early rooftop reservation and needed to rest before. The room itself was very small, but the bed was large and comfortable. The gentleman who checked us out was a bit rude and abrupt, which was disappointing. That said, I would consider staying here again for a short visit of 1–2 nights due to the location and comfort.
