I expected standard room viewed as one from my booking confirmation but instead I was accommodate in very small room. I complained in the reception and they explained that that this the only room left. It was not fare as I booked the room 10 days before my arrival.
The hotel is located within walking distance of most of Rome’s major attractions. It is located on a street with wonderful gelato and pizza restaurants as well as vintage shops. The continental breakfast is located a few blocks away at their main hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful during check-in and in arranging airport transportation upon departure. The room was comfortable and it had a great air conditioner- a must in Rome’s hot summer. The hotel is decorated with many paintings: a dog/ animal motif with a very Italian feel! The shower is a little small, but that is to be expected of an old European building that has been converted with modern conveniences. I would love to stay their again!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Very small space, I could barely fit in the shower. But the staff are friendly and helpful.
Great hotel for the price. Bed comfy, air conditioner worked really well - essential in summer, the room has a fridge and kettle. The hotel is on the fourth floor of an old building, but thankfully there is a small lift so no need to carry luggage up the stairs. Reception is on the first floor - staff very friendly and helpful, English speaking - Helped us book train tickets and printed the tickets for us. The breakfast is very nice and plenty of it, don't have breakfast in the room - take a walk to the main hotel about 5 mins walk away - up on the top floor terrace, breakfast with fantastic views out over the city rooftops - staff serving the breakfast very friendly. The hotel is in a great location - 30 mins is the maximum walk to get you to all the sites, most are a lot closer.
Nice reception staff. Room was clean and what we expected for Rome. It's not a Hilton or Marriot... It's an old school room. The location of the hotel made the trip. It's walking distance yo everything and is a pleasure to return to at the end of a long. Best pizza bufetta located beside hotel and best ice cream in Roma. You will always see lines there... Always! But that's what makes these places so special. Enjoy.
Great spot. Convenience store right next door, many places to eat, drink and shop in the same area. Walking distance to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Castle. The walk to the Piazza Espana (Spanish Steps) about 1/2 hour. Pharmacy and Laundromat/Pet Wash around the corner, Beauty salon (women) one door away.
We enjoyed a 4 day break here and found everything as described on the website. During our stay we walked everywhere, it is so easy to find your way around and the locals are friendly. Typically Italian, the streets are all cobbled and atmospheric. If you do nothing else in your life, come to Rome and stay here. You won't be disappointed.
Beautiful room in a nice location. The staff was very helpful printing out my tickets and in accommodating my request to bring the breakfast to my room.

Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
Empty promises
We asked for a taxi to the airport for 6:30 for the next day. They said that they will call us 5-10 minutes before to tell which company car will be downstairs waiting for us. But nobody called us and it was no car downstairs either. We had to go to the busy street with our suitcases to find a taxi. Two people promised that it would not be a problem, and nobody could call taxi as promised?
Perhaps the best interior decor anywhere. Spacious and comfortable. The ladies at the desk were very, very helpful in helping me deal with lost luggage. Breakfast offered on the rooftop patio provided an amazing view of the old city. Very nice breakfast, too. One caution - we had a little trouble finding the place. If you have the same trouble, look two doors to the west of the intersection of Via Governo Vecchio with Via Soro on the south side of the street. A two-leaf heavy wooden door with arch above and the name next to buzzer to the right of the door. Hope to post a picture after I get home. This place was simply wonderful.
We loved the place but it was WAY too noisy at night. One room was at the front of the bldg facing the street. The other room was at back and no noise. It was a little weird walking to another place for breakfast but the roof top view was really nice. Staff was quite nice and helpful.
All around great hotel. Friendly staff. Printed out all my tour tickets. Stayed in room VERONICA. It was beautiful, 2 adults and 2. Holstein ages 3 and 5 fit with plenty of room to lounge.
Quirky hotel, with unique features. Fantastic staff who could not have been more helpful. Room wal clean and large enough for 2. Could have used a mirror behind the desk to use as a dressing table and son hooks for coats.
Hotel position was ideal. 10 mins walk to Pantheon, 15 to Trevi fountain and Vatican, 25 to Spanish steps and Colleseum. Also in a street with a good mix of bars and restaurants.
Second time we have stayed here and would not come back to Rome unless we had the Navona Governo Vecchio. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and the mansion is not far from the main attractions and historic sights that Rome has to offer. All the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. It's worth pointing out though that if you book, breakfast is served at their main hotel about 5 minutes away (walking) or you can request what you would like and they will bring it to your door - brilliant choice of foods. We will always continue to stay here as it really is an amazing place to stay.
Everything works. Friendly, helpful staff. Right in the thick of things.
The view from the terrace of the main hotel is fantastic. Go there for breakfast.
Best part of our stay here was the lovely staff. So friendly and helpful. We had a large room that was so perfect for our needs. There is an elevator that I appreciated as it is on the 4th floor and after walking all day in Rome, so nice. We had a choice of breakfast in our room or walk to another hotel and we did both and enjoyed both. It is a great location to see the sites. The only downside I had is that there had been a water leak from above and our room had a musty odor after a few days. I think they were going to get it fixed soon but I would ask if you have Veronica room.
