I was very pleased to be able to take my dog. Young lady who checked me in was very helpful trying to get me live TV reception. Unfortunately we were both unsuccessful.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere

This was an absolutely fantastic place to stay. What a gem! Sue Ellen could not have been more welcoming - even making a dinner reservation for us and updating the restaurant because we were running late. Rimu Lodge is delightful. The rooms are large, contemporary yet cosy, beautifully decorated and with lots of little touches such as a turn down service, exquisite bathroom products and fine quality chocolate treats to welcome you. The super king bed was extremely comfortable and my husband and I slept like tops! Our room opened out onto a gorgeous veranda where, weather permitting, you can stargaze at night and relax during the day. We arrived too late for the welcome happy hour drinks to meet our host and other guests, but this was another lovely touch. Breakfast was divine. High quality ingredients, fresh fruits and pastries plus beautifully cooked hot options. Both hubby and I had the French toast which was accompanied by a divine fruit compote. Totally delicious. Sue Ellen was really helpful in providing tips on what to see and do in the area and relating to our onward journey. Thank you Sue Ellen for being so kind and attentive. We really felt that it was important to you that we enjoyed our stay and we appreciate the effort you made on our behalves. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rimu Lodge. You won't be disappointed.

Not as we imagined. Thinking a guesthouse as in the title thought would be welcoming…. Said breakfast included, it isn’t. You get 1 v small milk carton and teabags. Prob great for a group but squashed dead insects on the door of the loo, dust behind the doors and just felt like staying at a grandmas house without the welcoming grandma….we sent a message to the owner on arrival as a lock safe entry and 2 days later no response. Up to you but not for us, disappointed

Great place to take it easy. Driving distance to local town. Nice quiet location and lovely hosts.
