Quick overnight stay after a return on a late flight. Rooms are small but clean and met our needs. Breakfast was included but definitely not exceptional. This will not be our first choice of hotels near the SLC airport.

Positive Improvements

My stay at the Comfort Inn Salt Lake City was as expected. The room overall was very clean and accommodating for our needs. We were there only for a few hours before catching an early flight but front desk staff was nice and check in was a breeze. The only negative that I observed was that the bathroom was dated and not as clean as it could have been. The shower mat was rolled up and stored in a shelf in the shower. This shower mat appeared dirty and appeared to be an unfortunate oversight for a hotel who appears to be focusing on aligning itself with more expensive hotel chains by having amenities such as nice complimentary toiletries available. These small details go a long way in establishing superiority in the chain hotel business as I believe the cleanliness of the bathroom is one of the most important components of a quality accommodation.

Bugs? In the Beds

Check in this time was easy, sometimes it’s not as the staff isn’t around the desk. They take a card for incidentals and it is noted that there is a fee for parking however I wasn’t charged for that. We’ve stayed here several times over the past few years as we frequent SLC for the children’s hospital and the property has always been clean and inviting; this time though we were accommodated it wasn’t as what I believe to have found in two separate rooms were bugs in the beds and that is enough to make one’s skin crawl. Thanks for the hospitality but no thank you.
