The host was responsive to my complaint regarding the black mold visible in out bathroom - ledge, ceiling, tub enclosure. She provided a HEPA filter and agreed to reimburse us for the three remaining nights we had if e wanted to leave. The issue I struggle with is that mold should not even be an issue I should have had to deal with. I was completely uncomfortable the first night, though symptoms of this allergy impacted by the mold, making it mandatory for me to me use an OTC antihistamine ( I do like the side effects of these medications) along with a HEPA filter. Even with both of these, I was uncomforatble during the entire stay, unable to sleep, headache, stuffed head, sore throat, impacting my ability to enjoy the vacation; I did not feel well in this location.We were in SLC for only 4 nights. When I heard back from the owner agreeing to reimburse us fo the last three nights, she apologized for not having any other apartments. Our time there was so brief we would have lost an entire day relocating (we only had three full days there). As a result we stayed in the apartment but I did not feel well for the entire stay.Is there some type of building/apartment expectations so other renters are able to enjoy their vacation and not have to deal with a situation like this one? This environment was toxic!
