We loved our stay at The Beau! The hotel is beautifully renovated with old-world charm and modern comfort. Our room was spotless and cozy, and the location was perfect, just a quick 10 min Uber to the San Diego Zoo and a short walk to the Coronado ferry. The highlight was the incredible service, from the bellhop, to the front desk, to the restaurant and bar, every staff member made us feel welcome. We’re still dreaming of the Bananas Foster. A perfect stay from start to finish!

The Beau is a beautiful hotel conveniently located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. It is surrounded by great restaurants, shops, venues, and public transit stops that will easily get you around the cit. It has a very friendly staff that is more than willing to assist and even was nice enough to hold bags before check in and after check out. There are a few complaints I do have though. For one the hotel says on the website that it is fully wheelchair accessible but I don't think that can be true. They have no elevator at all, (we were told they are still trying to get licensing for it) and all of the rooms are up at least one flight of stairs. My wife had back surgery fairly recently so if I would have known this in advance we probably would have picked a different hotel. It is also pretty noisy. the rooms have pretty thin walls and you hear everything from the other rooms and the city outside. Also adding to the noise is the window unit A/C's that they have which loudly cycle on and off every few minutes. It definitely wasn't a terrible experience, but these are things that I feel should be factored into your decision.

Only complaint is website at the time did not state the lobby bar was being renovated and not open for guests. That was one of the main reasons I chose this place, so we could have a nightcap in our hotel if we wanted one. Otherwise, very nice staff!

I am in the industry and work for a 5 star resort in Tennessee, The beau hotel was exactly the type of service we provide. A staff the genuinely cares about you as a guest. The team all seem to enjoy working there and it shows! I was greeted by Valet/Bellman and he swiftly took my luggage to my room after I check in. The front desk staff escorted me to my room and explained all the amenities of the hotel, the bartender and restaurant staff, provided swift friendly service. I had such a nice time chatting with them. The manger greeted me and gave me a drink coupon for the bar and then gave me the perfect directions for a walk to Seaport Village and on my return made it a point to ask how my walk and experience was. Again, genuine service. My stay was short but so memorable. You also receive a 20% discount when you dine in the restaurant as a hotel guest.

New hotel and restaurant. Even though our room was small and reasonably priced, we were just there to sleep after attending a Padres baseball game. Room was quiet. Walking distance to PetCo Stadium. Nearby dining options, including at the Hotel, were excellent. Staff were wonderful and ready to please! Would stay again.

Perfect location in Gaslamp District--near lots of shopping, dining and attractions, as well as nightclubs for our 21 year old daughters. The staff was exceptional. The bar and menu matched. The Beau has that quaint and classic hostoric charm while still being trendy and sheek. 10 of of ten--we would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for a quick overnight trip. The only good thing about this hotel was it was perfectly located. Parking was $42 overnight in a public garage a block away. Our check in time was 3:30 our room wasn’t ready until 4:30 which was such an inconvenience as we had plans. The room was the smallest tiniest room ever, bed and pillows were so uncomfortable! Shower handle fell off just by simply turning it, shower reminding me of an rv one super small. I know it’s downtown San Diego an old building and they don’t offer certain amenities but would not stay here for the price ever again!

Historic Charm

We loved our stay at the Beau. Gorgeous old hotel with modern upgrades. The rooms are very small. Might be an issue for a longer stay. Great coffee on every hall. The food in the restaurant was outstanding! No elevator but they will take your luggage up and down for you.
