This place was, truly, exceptional! From feeling safe on the secure grounds to providing an amazing breakfast to having spectacular views. We enjoyed our stay at Villa San Ignacio and would do it again in a heartbeat if we were back in the area! I highly recommend this place to stay if you’re looking for a simple and comfortable room. You’ll find more than what you bargained for.

The service at this cute little villa was superb. Our waiter was extremely personable and made our first night in Costa Rica very memorable. The rooms were clean and spacious. The shower’s water pressure was amazing. The hotel was a little noisy since it is right off of a well-traveled road and we heard loud motorcycles well into the night. The mattress was fine for me, but some others in my group complained about it being too firm.

Great Stay

What a great place to stay for the night before our flight. The beds are firm, which I like, and the pillows are probably the most comfortable pillows of all my travels. The fish tacos were excellent and the gallo pinto in the typico breakfast was the best I’ve had on 2 trips to Costa Rica. The place was very clean. Hot water in the showers was excellent and the water pressure is the highest pressure I’ve seen anywhere including my own home in the States. The one negative is the street noise. It was extremely loud in our standard room. We were not in a room facing the street but on the back side of the building near the street. The motorcycles and big trucks did finally quiet down from about 10 or 11 pm until maybe 6 am. My tip: Pay extra to get a room not at the front of the property.

My husband and I stayed here briefly before traveling to La Fortuna and the property was beautiful. We felt very safe and the breakfast was honestly one of the best we had in our entire stay in Costa Rica. Super simple but fresh. Highly recommend!

A little piece of luxury - for great value

We stayed for our last night before heading to the airport and it was a lovely piece of luxury to end the holiday. Great size room, quiet, excellent water pressure and temperature (not a given in Costa Rica from our experience!) Breakfast was great - lots of options to order. Pool was clean and lots of loungers. We stayed for a while after checkout and walked the short trails in the grounds, plus had a delicious lunch at the restaurant. Then to top it off, less than £10 for an Uber to the airport (took 20 mins or so at 3pm). Highly recommend for a night or two.

Great place for the price.

Great place, good price. Close enough to airport, $10 Uber ride. A street on side of property creates a bit of truck noise for upper rooms. Pool looked sweet and the breakfast was good. Best part was staff, good job management!

What a beautiful property for walking the trails and seeing so many fabulous birds. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The restaurant had excellent food in a beautiful space overlooking the property and mountains in the distance. I highly recommend.
