This Hotel Has Gone from VIP to Disgrace 🚫 After 25+ years visiting Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and staying at this hotel many times — often as a VIP guest 💼 with free room upgrades and over $4,000 a year in bookings and referrals — I’ve officially had enough. I will never return. Here’s why you should avoid this place: 🏚️ The hotel is rundown and neglected 🚽 Toilets leak 🛏️ No refrigerators in rooms 🧼 Dirty carpets and stained curtains — unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one near the airport 🍽️ Food is mediocre and absurdly overpriced — $109 for two shrimp pastas and a beer 💸 💳 I was charged $250 for a smoking claim 🚭 with no proof or discussion The management seems new 🤷‍♂️, but honestly, I have no interest in engaging them after this. There are new hotels under construction near SJO ✈️ that already offer better value, service, and cleanliness. ❗Avoid this hotel — it's no longer worth your money or peace of mind.❗

Once a VIP – Now Treated Like a Stranger 😒🚫 I’ve been coming to Costa Rica 🇨🇷 for over 25 years and stayed at this hotel many times. I was always treated like a VIP 💼 — complimentary room upgrades, referrals, and spending over $4,000 a year. But that loyalty clearly means nothing now. The property has gone downhill fast ⬇️: 🚽 Leaky toilets 🚫 No refrigerators in rooms 🏚️ Worn-out infrastructure 🍤 Mediocre food at outrageous prices — two shrimp pastas and a beer cost $109 💸 Then came the worst part: a $250 💳 charge for a smoking claim 🚭 — no proof, no warning, no discussion. Management seemed new 🤷‍♂️ — but frankly, I no longer care. They’ve lost my trust and my business permanently! There are now better hotels near SJO ✈️, including newer properties under construction 🏨🔨 offering real value and service. ❗Avoid this hotel when traveling to Costa Rica.❗

El personal es atento y amable. Las instalaciones están en avanzado estado de deterioro. Nos quedamos en el tercer piso y las habitaciones están pésimas y al final del pasillo la estructura está colapsando. Varillas mohosas, filtraciones en muchas áreas, alfombras desgastadas y manchadas, las duchas necesitan un upgrade, mal olor en la habitación, piscina sucia, etc. Por la única razón que le brindo 1 estrella es por el personal pero por lo demás deberían cerrarlo para remodelar sus instalaciones.

The staff was very nice. The hotel had large pool areas. It is an older hotel that i would not consider a 5 star hotel at all, but maybe in Costa Rica they think it is. The food service was absolutely horrible. When I finally did get food it was the wrong order.

The hotel and grounds are pretty big. The casino is nearly symbolic by most standards. Staff were pretty good, friendly, helpful, room spacious and clean. I would have preferred a different location so I could walk around and explore a bit. Can we get more gluten free options? Price for the room was reasonable. Appreciate the mini-fridge and extra pillow. They work hard to keep the place clean.

It was absolutely awful. Our room was FILLED with over 15 cockroachs. We had to switch rooms and even the new room was nasty. We did not get to bed until 2am because of this when we had to get up at 5 to catch our flight. I will never stay with you guys again.
