I didn't appreciate that my room wasn't clean properly napkin on the floor , hair was the floor ..
Sunny was very friendly on the property.
And the only good thing about the area everything is close by .
Fui engañada por que selecciones una habitación para una persona y lo que me estaban ofreciendo era con 5 personas más, totalmente desconocidas en la misma habitación, una locura.
There were very strange people in this hostel. I was in a room only for women and people who didn’t even sleep in this room came in and used the bathroom. The room was dirty and the beds were very unstable and not safe.
I booked a few nights here but left right after the first night. This place is very dirty with roaches crawling out of the outlets and through the kitchen. The microwave was a nightmare I don’t know how ppl are warming up their food in there. The kitchen is outside and although I didn’t mind that it’s just disgustingly dirty. There’s dishes everywhere and very unorganized. They have 2 mini fridges that are packed with food so there’s no space to put anything else in it. I spoke to the staff and a man that said he was the manager about getting a refund and he offered to refund me partial payment but never did. I was honest with him and told him I didn’t like it there. The people there suck too. They don’t make you feel welcome and they’re drunk and causing drama. I would not recommend this place at all. If you can afford to spend a little more go somewhere else.
You get what you pay for mostly, bathroom was way too cramped, the shower was just a pipe, and the beds didn't have blankets. But the beds were comfy and the water seemed clean which was a plus. Location is also nice, in the center so in walking distance of beaches, convention centers, mall, and Old San Juan. Overall not too bad for the price
The place reeked of cat urine from the 20-30 cats inhabiting the place. The rooms were basically the side of the bed plus one foot on the sides and 3 foot at the bottom of the bed.
The bathroom was hard to use because it was so tiny. Also the sink was broken and the shower barely worked. I could use the toilet if I bent my knees.
The place was just across the street from a pool hall, and it sounded as if the people there were outside my door.
The last straw was when cockroaches started coming out of the bedsheet.
On the plus side, the staff was very nice and tried to be helpful.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The room was cozy, and there was a great deck on the top floor, but the room need roach control, and laundry was going on until midnight.
No space for parking, the room itself had a tricky lock to it and wasn’t sure if it was locked, got bit up by mosquitoes and for the bedding we were given a sheet.

I might say you get what you pay for. Normally I stay at Nomada Beach hostel, but since I was on a shoestring I went the budget route with Casa Santurce. It was a low key place but the bunk rooms are cramped, and their is no kitchen. For a few dollars more at Nomada you get a pool, a nice kitchen, much better showers, and many different sitting areas. I'd suggest that Casa Santurce make this more cooking friendly, and also provide a few more places to sit.
I've stayed here 4 or 5 times...it's a nice spot, don't expect much,The wifi hardly works in the room, and tv is fuzzy. And I ask the guy for a receipt when I check out,and he says what do you mean receipt.I was like nevermind.ha
We loved our stay there. The room was plenty adequate, clean, comfortable. Very convenient location. Best of all, the people, staff and other travelers, were friendly, helpful, open, and interesting.
I booked this property through Expedia assuming that listings are reputable and description is accurate. Room 3C turned out extremely dirty. Door locks are unsafe and door is loosely closed. There is no hot water in the bathroom faucet and handle for cold water is broken. Roof leaked badly when it rained. Issues were raised to hotel management on daily basis, but they ignored to acknowledge and address any of them. I wish I knew then what I know now.
The door lock of the room was loosened and felt unsecured. Then found out the toilet was leaking, the reception apologized and said she notified the owner that it's totally okay if I plan to stay somewhere else and refund the full amount. However the owner later emailed me saying that the water leaking was fixed and claimed that I didn't wait long enough for them to resolve the problem therefore he/she will not refund me. Very terrible owner and very frustrated
I arrived off the ferry and went to the hotel early to drop off my bags. I asked a person on site where I could take my bags and she said I could go wait in the kitchen. I got there and was asking in Spanish if I was in the right place. Someone else told me to stop speaking Spanish and just speak English. I'd been on my trip for several weeks already and this was the first time anyone insisted that I speak English. When I returned later to check in, they tried to put me in room 1A but the outer door lock was broken. They moved me to 1B, but in that room many things were broken or dirty--chair, tables, bathroom door. If the staff had just been a little nicer, it would be easy to overlook the problems with the room. It was frustrating to have to pin the bathroom door shut with a table because you can't leave the door to the bathroom open in most tropical places or the AC will escape. Plus the table I had to use was sticky and broken. Please see pics.
