The house was beautiful and clean and the outside area was very nice. It was cold and windy during our two day stay so we weren’t able to enjoy it outside as much as we wanted. My low rating comes from the host. He was not welcoming in the least. I had to ask for the house code before arriving it wasn’t sent to me. I had to message him repeatedly each time to get an answer. I had first asked if the hot tub was ready for use and after a day with no reply I asked again and received a brief, “yes”. The next several messages were logistical things upon arrival and they went unanswered. I messaged him once asking that water be turned on to the guest house because two people in our party had no water out there and couldn’t even use the bathroom. After an additional message asking that the water be turned on for his guests he responded. Each time I messaged I felt like I was bothering him. I actually called a number on the instruction sheet in desperation for answers to my questions and help with the water. I reached the former owner who had sold the property. This house was very poorly managed and if you choose to stay be prepared for very limited access to the host to answer questions.

Even though we experienced some miscommunications, which I will list within this review, I’m still giving 5 stars, due to the fact that the property was beautiful and clean, and customer service / host was responsive in fixing any issues. The good —• Stunning property• CLEAN! • Well stocked kitchen • Plenty of towels and linens • Great selection of movies and games (ideal for families) • No crazy cleaning expectations or check out rules! • Responsive host / customer service. The bad — • I do not believe this was disclosed in the listing, but the boat house (which is counted amongst the listed bedrooms) was out of commission and without running water, due to it being winter time. This would’ve been fine, had it been disclosed up front. That being said, since temps were above freezing, they were able to come the next morning and turn the water on. However, there was never any warm water and the toilet wouldn’t flush. • We did not receive our check in email and door code. I had to call them directly to receive it, but 1-2 hours before it was time to check in. All in all, we’d definitely come back!

The house was great! Best stocked kitchen I’ve had in a rental which was great for thanksgiving! The water was not turned on in the guest house so the first night was a little rough but they did send someone out on thanksgiving day to fix it! The bedroom situation was not quite right for our family but the property was super clean and the rec room was a wonderful addition!

Family Vacation 2025

We had a great time!! Mother Nature wasn’t good to us, but that just gave us more time to venture out and see more of Sandusky as well as enjoy family quality time and family game time!! There’s a lot of indoor games and outdoor recreation activities to keep everyone busy!! Everyday we saw eagles. It was incredible!! The kitchen had everything we needed also!!! I’d definitely go back as well as suggest this place to others!!

We had a wonderful stay. Amazingly quick response when the microwave quit working. It was replaced immediately. Beautiful view and the sunsets were amazing. A little misleading in the bedroom situation. We had 14 adults and 1 couple ended up on a pull out couch, but we made it work.

Well stocked, clean and beautiful location

Property was extremely well stocked with supplies in kitchen, plenty of towels for bath, tons of glassware in bar, etc. Very clean everywhere! Two washer/dryers came in handy for our large group. Game room, watercraft: everything you could need. Owner was very responsive to any inquiry and was even kind enough to loan us a parking pass for Cedar Point! Location was lovely with access to bay plus Lake Erie beach access, although, sadly, the latter was not accessible to all (have to climb up rocks then climb down a precarious ladder to get to beach). The dredge parked next door was an eyesore but doubt much that could be done about that. Too hot and humid to use fire pits but a nice large outdoor area for that. Neighborhood was generally quiet. Home was decorated in a nautical theme with lots of detailed and authentic touches. The one thing missing in the house was full length mirrors, though!

One of our best

Our three generational family has been staying in VRBO’s since it was created and we all agreed this was one of our best. Robert has just about everything we needed in the kitchen except a note tablet and clips for chips. There were lots of everything. We always need two refrigerators so that was nice along with some empty cabinets for us to put our bags and bags of groceries in. The beds were comfortable so with two bad backs in the family, that was also appreciated. We had very few issues but when we did Robert was quick to reply. I recommend this house with five stars.

Great Start of Summer weekend

We all loved the house and even had guests that were impressed. The small decorative boating items made the property very unique. Fully stocked kitchen, even with a variety of spices and cooking items. We would definitely rent again. One small complaint, although it did not affect us, but the game room and the cots for sleeping should not be considered a bedroom for sleeping. It was very musty smelling and only small children would fit on the cots and it might be too scary for them to sleep in there at night.

Comfortable home with many conveniences

We had 14 people in our group and we all enjoyed our stay. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the dining area accommodated all of us. Everything was well stocked with many thoughtful details. Although the weather wasn’t great, it didn’t diminish how much fun we had just hanging out at the house.

The details!

Our experience was amazing! Robert went above and beyond from the very beginning, helping us find a ramp to launch our boat and even a marina. The house itself is exquisite! The attention to detail was visible in every aspect of the home. We can’t wait to go back!

The Lakehouse is an amazing place to stay. Pictures do not do this place justice! So comfy you feel right at home! Everything we needed was stocked! Robert has thought of everything! Loved going out on paddle boat and canoes that are provided. Would definitely plan another get away here! Stunning view!

Four Generations Loved It!

This is a custom built beautiful house on a unique property - Lake Erie private beach at the eastern boundary (front yard) and Sandusky Bay at the back patio (western boundary). This gives unobstructed views of the sunrise AND the sunset! Every type of watercraft imaginable was available and we had a ball trying them all, which was a great opportunity to easily what we enjoyed without having to buy, rent or transport anything. We are a family group of 15 people with 4 generations from 2 months old to 88, and everything was comfortably accessible, from the fire pit to the outdoor activities to the games building. We used every space and everything was in perfect condition and exceeded our very high expectations. Advice to future vacationers: take 15 minutes and open every cupboard in the kitchen and bar to get an idea of what is there for your use. I didn’t realize there was a whole cupboard of measuring cups until day six! This place truly has everything you want or need. The owner is great, the neighbors are lovely and the locals are wonderful!

What a week!

This property was perfect for our extended family get-together! We had plenty of space - inside the house, in the game room, and outside to hang and do whatever we wanted! The house was clean and well-appointed with a fully stocked kitchen that had anything you wanted. Having access to both Lake Erie and Sandusky bay was great and the dock made accessing the boat easy! We would highly recommend this property to anyone!
