It was very noisy. The windows are metals instead of glasses. The shampoo and conditioner are not provided. You did not see smiles from the stuff there.

Great classic old school hotel in downtown São Paulo. Value for money and great friendly service. I always stay there!

Hotel is disgusting in every aspect, carpets are dirty and not cleaned for years, walls have mold and mildew almost everywhere, rooms smell old and disgusting, bathroom toilet was unmounted, bathtub was dirty, DO NOT STAY HERE AT ALL. Also staff is unaware of charges, at checkout they told me snacks weren’t included and charged super overpriced, trash cans had trash inside from previous renters, this should not be a hotel at all.

Hotel is in good location to shopping, restaurants, bars & metro stop (Republica). Front desk staff were excellent in receiving us and for providing information & answers. Our room was clean & comfortable (no issues with the bed & AC, shower & water pressure was excellent). The breakfast quality & choices were good. More choices would make it excellent. Sao Paulo has a excellent extensive metro network (fast & on time). Seniors over 60 yrs get to use the metro free by showing picture ID. There is a lot of homeless people living on the streets, even in affluent area of the city (observation after three walking tours of different areas of Sao Paulo). This should not be viewed as a negative for this hotel. Even with the amount of homelessness on the streets, as two senior men, we did not find it unsafe to walk on the street during daylight hours. Exercise common sense after dusk & don't walk alone.

The two electrical outlets, one was broken, are not conviently located. The one working electrical outlet is located near the enterance door and quite a distance from the bed and night stand. Other than that, the stay was comfortable.

A Step Back to 1970 Sao Paulo

I liked this place a lot. You feel like you stepped back in time when you stay here. The maids wear uniforms and the male staff wear jackets. The decor is unintentionally retro while the rooms are completely renovated. The breakfast is good and pets stay free. The staff were very helpful and called me by name.

Hotel Grand Corona - Very Good Hotel

I've spent a week at the Grand Corona, it's well located in the center of Sao Paulo, it's owned and operated by a Family, great management. I would recommend to my Friends and my Family. Breakfast is fantastic at The Grand Corona, lots of tropical fruits, eggs, bacon, coffee and the staff is second to none, great people. To top it all, there is a very good Restaurant in the hotel, I'll be back soon.

Nice old hotel, well located, clean / good service

This hotel is located in the heart of the action (close to a major road and places to visit) and so close to the metro that it is super easy to move quickly around the city. The morning breakfast is excellent, a lot of choices with good taste. The building, rooms and common areas look old and really need and upgrade, but the service is great and everything is clean. From the person who help you carrying your luggage, the one driving your car to the parking garage, the front desk person and the cleaning lady, we always found a smile and willing to help with any question we could have. If you are ok with no fancy hotels, stay here, you will enjoy the old style hotel. Do not expect luxury and not English channels or HBO, just regular Brazilian channels, plus a good WiFi service, at least on the fourth floor.

Minha estada foi boa. O hotel é bem antigo e muito bem localizado, no centro de São Paulo, o que facilita bastante a locomoção. A equipe é educada, atenciosa e sempre disposta a ajudar. Todo o mobiliário e a ambientação do hotel são realmente antigos, o que acaba sendo um diferencial interessante e confere bastante charme ao local. Apesar de alguns pontos que poderiam passar por pequenos ajustes ou reformas, a experiência geral foi positiva. Como curiosidade, vale destacar que o banheiro do lobby, aberto aos hóspedes, possui azulejos de uma coleção antiga da Valentino, peças raras e de alto valor, o que reforça ainda mais a identidade histórica do hotel.
