Great place to stay. Book early.

I have come to Hotel Klingelhoeffer for many years. No matter which room I occupied, I felt taken care of, enjoyed a lovely breakfast and, I I stayed, also wonderful dinners. I hope to be back for many more times.

We spent only one night here, but the room was large and the restaurant was excellent! We ate dinner there and it was one of the best meals we had in all of our two weeks in Germany. They didn't have a menu in English, so our server proceeded to translate each dish for us. She was really funny and the food was great. The free breakfast was also very good. This hotel exceeded our expectations!

Terrible Disappointment in Beautiful Town

The Hotel Klingelhoefer has one of the best restaurants in this charming, historic town. Perhaps the owners should focus solely on the food service as the promise offered in the restaurant is unfulfilled rather starkly in the rooms. The rooms are circa 1970 and are bare, unimaginative, poorly maintained, badly ventilated and (by German standards) not very clean. The street is noisy and one of the more “down market” in a very lovely city. Hotel service cannot be rated as it does not exist. The ‘value for results’ on this property’ is amongst the worst we have experienced with Hotels.com. As usually very satisfied travelers with 92 countries in our ‘resume,’ the only advice we have for the Hotel Klingelhoefer is ‘don’t do it.’

Great little hotel for a shorts stay. Convenient to shopping and dining. Excellent restaurant and a good breakfast provided. Inconvenient that restaurant and check in is in building two doors from room.

Pleasant stop over in beautiful town of Alsfeld

Modest and slightly dated but otherwise large and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff and a very good kitchen. Short walk from centre of the town. Convenient parking at inner court. Good value for money.

good choice for stop over

We stayed in this establishment as a convenient stop late in day between Frankfurt Flughafen and Dresden. It was ideal for our purposes. Most important was the breakfast, which was included for all four of us. Very nice restaurant with good food. I would not personally make a visit to Alsfeld as a destination, however, as a step on the way somewhere else, it was a good choice.

Simple and yet Good Hotel - will stay again

Our family stayed one night during our visit to Alsfeld. Simple hotel, comfortable and value for money. Staff is helpful. Breakfast was okay. The hotel is within walking distance to the old town and is very quiet. Met our expectation.

Charming hotel in charming town

We were traveling on the Fairy Tale route and chose Alsfeld as our first overnight. We were so charmed by the town and the hotel. It's so quaint and authentically German and historic. There was plenty of parking (we parked right in front of the door actually) and the hotel was very close to the old town center. The front desk woman spoke English enough to help us through. The hotel isn't a modern Hilton, so don't expect that. We did have to walk up two flights of circular stairs, too, and there may not have been an elevator so that could be a concern. We had two single beds pushed together, which was fine, but the pillow was a little (or severly) understuffed. The bathroom was adequate, but typically smallish. No screens on the windows, so we had some bugs on a warm summer night, but that's also typical. And don't expect any English tv...all German, but kind of fun. Oh, and the wifi was really, really slow. Super slow. But! the free breakfast buffet was superb. I would recommend a night here if you stay in Alsfeld! We enjoyed our stay.

Nice small hotel near picturesque town centre. Close to motorway, so perfect for one night stay on our way from France to Denmark. Very good breakfast.
