About this property
Charming Old Farmhouse in Secluded Nature – Perfect for Family & Friends
We spend two months each year in our home, Maison Bouscascie.
The deep tranquility of this place, its simplicity, and its unspoiled character enrich our lives, and we are happy to share it with you.
The former farmhouse is located in the gently rolling foothills of the Pyrenees, in a very peaceful setting at the edge of the forest, just outside the village of Sedeilhac. Lovingly restored by us over many years, the house features a simple, clear interior with wooden furniture throughout.
Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday only. Exceptions may be possible by prior arrangement.
Please bring your own bed linen, towels, and slippers.
A small stream runs through the 3-hectare property. There are many secluded spots, several terraces, and hammock areas beneath large, old trees — a paradise for curious children and nature-loving adults alike.
The house is furnished in a simple, uncluttered style with wooden furniture and paintings by a painter friend of ours. It is heated by two wood-burning stoves.
In the bathroom, in addition to the shower, there is also a traditional bath heater for the bathtub.
Two refrigerators, a toaster, a waffle iron, a grain mill, and a washing machine are available for your use. The kitchen is well equipped with crockery, and there is a pantry next to it.
The beds are fitted with high-quality latex mattresses and duvets made from llama wool, as well as pillows. We kindly ask you to bring your own bed linen.
Please do not wear street shoes inside the house. Bringing slippers is recommended.
Neighborhood Highlights
Maison Bouscascie is located outside the village of Sedeilhac, at the edge of the forest.
The village, with around 60 inhabitants, consists of a few farmhouses and an old church in the “center,” as well as widely scattered farms. The only road through the village is barely used, making the area extremely quiet.
You will be entirely on your own, yet still connected to village life by the regular ringing of the church bells and the lowing of cows.
Getting Around
Due to the secluded location, getting around in Sedeilhac requires your own vehicle or walking.
The Pyrenees offer wonderful opportunities for exciting excursions. We ourselves go hiking in the mountains several times a year.
The region features a wide variety of original farmers’ markets, several beautiful lakes, many limestone caves, and the historic 12th-century cathedral Notre-Dame de Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges.
