Colonial style furniture, stunning antiques and a myriad of Chinese and Indonesian ceramics give this luxurious villa its unique character. Koi ponds with sacred fish and islands of hegonia, an ancient tree and mystical statues are scattered around the villa, adding mysterious charm and a touch of Balinese spirituality.

Vaulted teakwood lined roofs and open plan concept living demonstrate quintessentially Balinese design. The style ensures everyone has their own space but can seamlessly weave in and out of the common area to socialise. Des Indes II is decorated in a neutral colour scheme with fiery pops of orange and red Chinoiserie.

There are four exquisite bedrooms oriented around the pool area with luxurious king size beds, and one bedroom on the upper level that enjoys its own private terrace. Sink into King Koil mattresses and crisp cotton linen. The fifth bedroom has twin beds that can be converted into a king size bed if required.

Some of the lovely design features of the rooms include teakwood floors, walk-in wardrobes and ornate musical instruments. Richly patterned oriental rugs add a splash of colour and finesse to the interiors. All bedrooms have a spacious ensuite bathroom with monsoon shower, twin basins and a bathtub.

There's a myriad of spots to rest by the main pool that spans the length of the property. including a grand cushioned red balé, sunbeds and an antique daybed. Enjoy a platter of fresh fruit after a cooling dip in the plunge pool and relax - you're on holiday! The villa has all the modern luxuries you need for an amazing holiday, including 47-inch curved satellite televisions in every room.

Eat breakfast together under the poolside pergola or gather around the dining table over a feast prepared by the villa's private chef. The team of staff at this property are friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, as some have been working at the villa for many years.

You'll find Des Indes II in the exclusive enclave of the Laksmana estate, a gated community in the heart of glamorous Seminyak. However, we wouldn't blame if you never left the comfort of the villa! If you do manage to tear yourself away, you'll be surrounded by glitzy boutiques, stunning yoga studios and Bali's hottest nightlife. Seminyak is home to hundreds of world-class restaurants and hip cafes. Don't miss dining on the famous Eat Street nearby.

Magical Petitenget Beach embodies Balinese spirituality, and Pura Petitenget - an ancient temple - is a significant link in the series of Danh Kahyangan temples along Bali's west coast between Pura Uluwatu and Pura Tanah Lot. It's said that in the 16th century a Hindu deity ensured the island's perimeters would be guarded from evil sea spirits.

Pura Petitenget has twelve shrines and an impressive dragon staircase that leads to an expansive courtyard. Every evening, there are temple ceremonies on the beach and traditional dance displays - a truly mesmerising way to experience the rich culture. Bali is known as the 'Island of the Gods' and after visiting some of the enchanting temples you'll find out why.

The villa manager will be able to organise transport for you to go further afield on Bali. Take a bike ride through the lush green landscape of Tabanan. Discover the famous Jutilwah rice terraces at the foot of Mount Batakuru, dotted with tea plantations. These rice terraces were a recent UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site candidate. Echo Beach is a lovely place for a sundowner and to enjoy their nightly barbecues - just a 9km drive from the villa.

For art lovers, Hotel Tugu Bali is an interesting museum-hotel hybrid full of priceless Indonesian art and antiques. Here, there's also a fabulous award-winning spa offering traditional Eastern therapies, so it's an ideal place to spend a leisurely afternoon.

Seminyak beach is a gorgeous place to be with an irresistible vibe from dawn till dusk. It's popular with surfers across Bali due to the powerful wave breaks. If you'd like to try surfing for yourself, there are numerous surf schools dotted around the island for you to learn from the pros. For sunset, visit one of the many atmospheric beach clubs such as Ku De Ta, Métis and Sarong, all within walking distance of the villa.
