The place is not a four star hotel. It is at best a three star hotel and even that is iffy.
I’ll start with the good. The location is pretty good for seeing Seoul. It’s close to the cable car to Namsan Tower and Myeungdong. Can easily walk to both from the hotel. I’d say 10 to 12 minutes to the night market. If you go the other direction you can head over towards the palaces and such. The subway station is close and the street leading up to the hotel has a few local Korean restaurants and a small convenience store. There are a couple of coffee shops and a gelato place as well. So if you’re a tourist, this is a good location. The beds were comfy as well and the AC worked pretty well, although they can be kind of loud.
Now the bad. The hotel is in need of updating. The carpet is worn, wallpaper peeling, and overall need of some love and care. I am Korean American and my Korean is limited, but I asked the front desk to call me a cab for my family of five. He tried for like 15 seconds and said he couldn’t do it. I messaged my cousin and he sent a car within 10 minutes. There is no laundry on premises. I talked to another front desk person, Filipina and she told me there is small laundry mat on the street which was obvious and of a dry cleaner. The dry cleaner is a super local place and I went in there and asked if he could do our laundry. He quoted 30,000 won and when I picked it up he said it was a lot so I gladly gave him another 10,000 won.
Hope this helps.
