I was traveling from Suzhou to Shanghai Pudong Airport to catch a flight. I originally planned to book a budget-friendly hotel for the night so I wouldn’t have to get up too early to travel from Suzhou the next morning. I chose this hotel because it was reasonably priced, included breakfast, and was only a 15-minute drive from the airport. When I arrived, it turned out to be even better than I expected. The king-size bed was very comfortable, and the environment was extremely quiet. The breakfast the next morning was also very generous. I immediately recommended it to my friends!

How did this hotel even get a four-star rating?

This hotel was a major disappointment — far from what you’d expect from a supposed four-star property. The room had a strong damp smell, and even worse, the bedding felt moist and clammy, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. While the interior looks newly renovated, the materials and workmanship are clearly cheap and poorly done. Breakfast was a letdown as well — lots of items, but most tasted bland or poorly prepared. The staff lacked basic professionalism The shuttle service only runs once per hour, which is inconvenient and impractical. this hotel is seriously overpriced. The experience is more like a two- or low three-star level at best. Definitely not worth the price — I would not stay again or recommend it to others.

Good for Shanghai Pudong layover

The hotel is great if you have an overnight layover. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the airport. The room was a decent size. I particularly liked the washroom arrangement and spacious shower. I had a single room and it had a king size bed. There was a free buffet breakfast that had a great selection. The only downside is that the hotel is located in an industrial area but okay if you just need a place to sleep. Staff were very friendly

There was a little line upon check in, but every employee that I encountered was very nice and hospitable. The shuttle from the airport was quick, organized and clean. The free breakfast was traditional Chinese, and also had western options for my picky eating kids. Beds were soft, and room was spacious. For a week long trip with my kids, I have nothing but good words and sentiments. Thank you employee 245 and 218 for servicing our rooms!! Thank you for making our stay amazing!!

Room is spacious and clean. It is also very near to Shanghai Pudong Airport and also provides a shuttle bus service to the airport every hour (you have to reserve a seat). The customer service is also very friendly and also provides pretty good breakfast selections.

Pros and Cons

Pros: -great affordable price -not far from PVG airport -shuttle is included for both the airport drop off and pick up as well as one Disneyland drop off and one Disneyland pick up per day. It’s very timely and clearly marked shuttle bus as well Cons: -front desk English is rudimentary at best -even if you put the “do not disturb” light on in your room, they’ll still come in and clean your room when you’re gone and knock until you wake up and answer the door if you’re inside and have locked the door. I didn’t like that, it felt like they were going to come in no matter what, even against my wishes -not very clean - hair was on surfaces, towels, and bedding -there’s a bright green light that blinks all night on the A/C machine (bring an eye mask)
