It also boasts a wide sand and shingle beach and is home to the beautiful 1,000-acre Sheringham Park and the nostalgic North Norfolk Railway.
The town itself hosts many events throughout the year including the Viking festival, beer festival, 40s weekend and Sheringham carnival week. Being on a main railway line, you can hop aboard and travel to Cromer, Wroxham and Norwich. If you can tear yourself away from this lovely town you can go east or west to discover salt and clay marshes, pretty beaches, rolling sand dunes and picturesque quays. Head to Blakeney and partake in a spot of crabbing or take a seasonal boat trip to see the seals.
Travel a little further and discover Wells-next-the-Sea which offers a host of instant-opportunities, including painted beach huts and a much-photographed quay. History buffs will enjoy trips to the numerous local museums, the Sandringham, Holkham, Blickling and Felbrigg Estates and the Muckleburgh and Thursford Collections.
