Shibata has no accommodation options within a very close range, but there are at least 2 options that are within a 16-kilometre drive.

The closest lastminute.co.nz-listed hotel is the Fuga No Yado Chouseikan, Niigata, located 17 kilometres from the heart of Shibata. Also, check out the Hotel Route-Inn Shibata Inter, located in Chubu, which is 12 kilometres away.

After you have enjoyed Shibata, you could set out to visit the wider region of the Chubu area. Photograph Chubu's beaches. In addition you could visit some of the area's ruins, castles and traditional villages. Adventurous types can also try their hand at snowboarding here.

Niigata is 35 kilometres to the west of Shibata and is home to the Toki Messe and Niigata Prefectural Civic Centre.
