Although many visitors fly/drive into Cairns, most of the Tour groups bring you to the Cassowary Coast just an hour south of cairns to enjoy all the famous attractions of Far North Queensland.
Ulysses Landing studio is named to reflect our desire to attract the most beautiful butterfly in Australia, the buildings on the property are painted the same blue and black colouring of the iconic Ulysses Butterfly’s wings to attract these butterflies. It works!
Ulysses Landing is located in the heart of the cassowary coast surrounded by sculptured tropical gardens, which feature seasonal tropical fruit which are complimentary for your picking. Lychee’s, Sweet Yellow Passionfruit, Payapa, Avocados and Star Fruit.
You’ll be comfortable in our elegantly appointed, newly built accommodation featuring all new appliances, luxury mattress and linen. Your studio features comfortable living with ensuite bathroom with double shower, flushing toilet, vanity and continuous gas hot water system. The kitchenette features fridge/freezer, espresso coffee machine, airfryer/oven/microwave/toaster, cutlery, crockery and kitchenware all condiments included. Enjoy a steak or Barramundi on the outdoor weber BBQ. Your studio accommodation is fully air-conditioned, insect screened and has block out curtains and blinds for privacy. Your studio has Wi-fi enabled television and internet. Laundry facilities are available. Secure car and boat parking is on premises.
Outdoor living features a 20sqm spacious deck with table and seating or unwind with a glass of champagne at the end of a big day in the 4 person spa and spot the Ulysses butterfly and bird life flying by.

Geographically, its located the closest beach to the Great Barrier Reef itself, the only place in Queensland that you can walk out to the reef at low tide certain times of the year. Garners Beach, a secluded strip where the rainforest almost touches the water. It’s perfect for picnics and relaxation and is nearby Cassowary Conservation and Rehabitation Reserve, spotting a Cassowary taking a walk is almost a given in this area.
Bingal Bay featuring a gorgeous palm-fringed beach set against a backdrop of lush rainforests. Eclectic Bingal Bay Café is nearby.
Take in the ocean waters whilst you take the kids fishing off the Jetty at Clump Point.

Tully is renowned for its annual rainfall, yes up to 6 meters each year! It boasts the famous Golden Gumboot. Stroll through the main street of this quaint little village. From here adventurers can visit Tully Gorge and go White-Water Rafting
Taking in the regions amazingly high annual rainfall lies Alligators Nest, one of the most pristine swimming holes in far north Queensland. Take in the lush wet tropics rainforest setting whilst taking a refreshing swim, then explore the flowing creek beds as they wind left, right and around various bend leading to the water source at the base of the mountain nearby within the National Park. Truly worth a visit or two.
Innisfail historic Art Deco town. Meet the trawlers for live catch of the day fresh seafood as you walk along the esplanade of the Johnstone River. Drop in to Oliver’s Italian Continental Deli and Café, you won’t regret it. The food here is authentic, you would be forgiven for thinking you were in Italy.

Hinchinbrook Island, surrounded by grassy seabeds attracting Dugongs and Turtles. The island boasts a variety of landscapes, from cloud-covered mountains and lush rainforests to white sandy beaches and mangrove-lined channels. It’s a place where you can truly escape the crowds and reconnect with the natural world. The famous Thorsborne Trail offers a challenging and rewarding hiking experience, taking you through 32km of ungraded track over approximately four days.
Cardwell Spa Pools, nestled in the picturesque hinterland of Cardwell, Queensland, is a natural geological wonder that has captivated visitors with its unique, opalescent waters. This naturally-fed, seasonal creek is renowned for its striking blue hue, which varies from a bright, baby blue to a milky-blue color depending on the sunlight and time of day. The vibrant coloration is attributed to the high levels of dissolved minerals, particularly magnesium and calcium, which the water acquires as it flows from underground through sedimentary rocks.
Further afield day trips within one hour of Ulysses Landing.
The magic continues…take a full day out to see the most photographed waterfall in Australia, Millaa Millaa Falls and the Waterfalls Circuit featuring 7 waterfalls and walks. As you drive there you will take in grassy rolling hills that are the expansive Atherton Tablelands. The Atherton village featuring boutique cafes, restaurants and giftshops.
Throughout your day tour in the Tablelands some must do’s includes visiting Gallo Dairyland for their finest cheeses, home-crafted chocolates and more and Mungalli Organic for their biodynamic milks, yoghurts, creams, cheeses and ice-creams.
Nearby Yungaburra is home to volcanic Crater Lakes perfect for a midday picnic and swim.
