Stop your search! We have stayed in the Silver-Gate/Cooke city area 4 times, always with VRBO. This property was by far our favorite stay. Communication with the owner was great when planning for our trip. This cabin was absolutely perfect for us. It was easy to navigate to and just outside the NE entrance to Yellowstone. It is very private and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. We had a friendly red fox come to visit us (no we did not feed him, much to his dismay) and also saw mule deer grazing in the yard. We hiked the Bannock ski trail which was steps from the cabin (bear spray provided by owner) and saw bison. We stayed in the next two days and enjoyed a thunderstorm followed by a wonderful snowfall. We were so warm and cozy at the cabin. When the weather lifted, we visited Lamar Valley and saw pronghorn, black bear, elk and bison. We enjoy YNP in the Fall due to fewer tourists. Make sure to bring food to cook your own meals in if you travel to this area between late September and May, as most diners are closed here during those months. Oh, and our bed was very comfortable!!! Great water pressure in the shower and water as hot as you want it. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. We also loved the loft area for puzzles and reading. Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful property above the others. You will not be disappointed.

This was the sixth time we have stayed at Grey Wolf. Every stay has been just perfect. Grey Wolf is clean, well cared for, and set up perfectly for our annual week of fishing in Yellowstone. Christy and Paul have been wonderful hosts, we have no complaints whatsoever!!

Beautiful cabin: the best facilities we have ever come across at a rental. Lived the speculated spot in the woods, although close to the entrance to Yellowstone park

We had a wonderful stay at the Grey Wolf Cabin while visiting Yellowstone National Park! The cabin was exceptionally clean, with a well-stocked kitchen and convenient laundry facilities that made us feel right at home. We especially enjoyed sipping morning coffee on the outdoor deck/covered porch surrounded by pine trees and resting in the comfortable beds each night. The thoughtful addition of multiple luggage racks, temperature controls / safety lighting throughout the cabin was also very much appreciated. We hope to return soon!

There was everything from hydrogen peroxide to fly swatters, games and books!!! Thank goodness there was even a heating pad for my sore muscles after hiking!!! We would definitely recommend to friends!!!

Everything was great about the property, check in was smooth and accommodations were nice. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t encounter any glitches during our 4 days. The only thing that seemed odd to me was the trash. You’re supposed to take your trash with you when you leave or there is a 50 charge. However, the trash compactor place doesn’t open until noon and you have to check out by 11 which leaves time for who knows what. So we ended up double bagging our trash and bringing it all the way home, good thing we were in a pickup and not an SUV or something. I understand it’s bear country but I’ve never seen this in a rental before even in bear country, even in silver gate.

Perfect mountain get away!

What a beautiful cabin tucked away in the quiet pines and mountains! The cabin had all amenities necessary for cooking. Clean comfortable and wonderful host who cares about our families needs at the cabin and safety in Yellowstone. Very close proximity to Yellowstone and restaurants/shops in silver gate and Cooke city. Beautiful walk on bannock trail right outside the cabin. We saw lots of wildlife in Yellowstone and had great hikes! We even saw a young bear out the window walking outside the cabin! Would definitely recommend this cabin!

Such a perfect and private cabin to be so close (less than 2 miles) to the Northeast entrance to the park. The cabin was the perfect size for two couples (each with their own bathroom) and it was very clean. The beds were comfortable. We cooked a lot of our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed…even a salad spinner! So convenient to be able to do laundry while we were there so no need to take extra clothing (if you are flying)…they even supply bear spray and a cooler. The cabin also had so many helpful books about Yellowstone and the surrounding areas. We took the Beartooth Highway one day to Red Lodge and would highly recommend the 2-hour trip. Also loved Chief Joseph Highway between Cooke City and Cody. This was our 6th trip to Yellowstone and our absolute favorite place to stay…next time we return to Yellowstone, we are definitely booking Grey Wolf again!! We even had a bear walk across the the backyard…just 6 feet from our deck!

Winter stay wonderful - will return

All very good. Cozy cabin. Never felt a chill with the thermostats set @ 65. Generator ran all night covering us during a power outage. Very well equipped for a VRBO property. Big ice buildup at the stairs to the main entrance - hope the owner can find a roofer to fix the mess. I took a header bringing in luggage despite applying ice melt and gravel for traction. Personal preference for softer sheets than those in the master. These minor details didn’t detract from the overall stay. Thanks!

Fabulous Cabin in the woods

The property is located in a secluded wooded area of Silver Gate, MT, a stones the away from Yellowstone’s Northeast Entrance. The owners have done a great job describing their property, it is exactly as they list. The accommodations are lovely and comfortable. We couldn’t have picked a better place to spend our mini vacation in Yellowstone. We were there in the early part of October and had perfect weather; cool nights, sunny days and no bugs! Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us!
