Casa do Campo is located in the Portuguese Algarve between Silves and Messines..
It is quiet, child-friendly, wheelchair accessible and not far from the beautiful, picturesque beaches. Has its own saltwater pool and a beautiful covered terrace with outdoor kitchen.
The main house can accommodate up to 6 people with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. With the booking of the duplex apartment (Maisonette-Apartment) can sleep up to 8 people. This is an independent Apartment joined to the main House with a large bedroom, kitchenette, shower and toilet. The 3rd generation family house was completely renovated with a lot of love in 2015, whereby the typical character and the authentic charm have been preserved. During the redesign, great importance was attached to using natural materials and sustainability. Lime paint, natural stone floor from the region as well as handmade wooden windows, photovoltaics, solar-powered underfloor heating and clay stove ensure a cozy atmosphere even in the cool season.

The spacious property (1000 sqm) with old trees offers the possibility, depending on the season, to pick fresh fruit such as oranges, Advocato, lemons, noni and to expand your diet rich in vitamins. The small chicken give you fresh organic eggs every day.

The small pool, which was integrated into the former cistern, provides a place to cool off. To increase the sense of well-being, dive here in salt water. In this little oasis you can let your soul dangle away and protected from the eyes of others.

You can experience your meals in the spacious covered barbecue area and end the evening with a good glass of Portuguese wine in the lounge. Enjoy the last warming rays of the setting sun.

The individual character of the house is complemented by the possibility to enjoy the typical Portuguese hospitality on request.

The owner couple (Lena and Nelson) would be happy to prepare a typical Portuguese lunch or dinner for you, so that after a relaxing day at the beach you can sit down at the beautiful table without having to leave your oasis of well-being. The food is prepared exclusively from the freshest ingredients, mostly from our own organic cultivation. Your personal wishes, be it vegetarian, meat or fresh fish, are of course taken into account here.


Casa do Campo is a very nice property for discerning clients, for families and couples.
The one-storey, 130 square meter house nestles gently in the surroundings of untouched nature. Here you will find a traditional Portuguese ambience, as well as modern comfort and luxury. It won't be difficult for you to just let your soul dangle here, because apart from the chirping of birds and rustling leaves in the wind, you won't hear anything in your peace here.

Relaxing stay.

Such a gorgeous villa to relax on. The terrace and pool are wonderful spaces and the villa is very well equipped with stylish touches. It was so lovely to have fresh fruit and veg and some wonderful snacks on our arrival. Thank you!

Wonderful short break

The house is lovely, perfect for a week long break. There were six of us staying, and the combination of house and separate maisonette worked perfectly. The large outdoor space was perfect for relaxed dining, and the small pool worked well for cooling off. The well stocked kitchen, and the shops/supermarkets of nearby Silves meant we could cook some nice meals for ourselves quite easily. Sonia was very welcoming, and explained the various things we needed to know very well. This all made for a very nice, relaxing week. Thank you Sonia. Martin.

The perfect place.

Casa do Campo is one of the most beautiful, relaxing places we have ever stayed in. This was our second visit and we enjoyed this years stay just as much as last year. It is very quiet with lots of land around the property. This consists mainly of vegetable plots and fruit trees (from which you can help yourself) as well as hens so you also have fresh eggs every day. There is a spacious covered area with a barbecue and seating and it a lovely place to relax at any time of the day. The pool is an added bonus with plenty of room around it to sunbathe. The three bedrooms are all a good size with very comfortable beds. There is a lounge area, a dining area and a fully fitted kitchen. Because this is a family home there are photos in the rooms which give it a lovely lived-in feel and is very welcoming. The owners are really friendly and it has been so nice getting to know them during our two visits. We really love Casa do Campo and will definitely be going back again.

Simply perfect!

This was our first trip to Portugal and the accommodation was just excellent. A three bedroom, one floor villa surrounded by extensive gardens. The villa is very spacious and the outdoor area is simply stunning. There are a range of vegetables and fruit trees from which you can pick fresh produce. There are also hens at the top of the garden so we had fresh eggs very day. There is plenty of space around the pool for sunbathing whilst there is also a covered outdoor dining area which joins onto a seating area with built-in brick bbq. The town of Silves is about a ten minute drive away and there are supermarkets and places to eat as well as the castle which is well worth a visit. Also for dining out, there is a brilliant restaurant just down the road from the villa. We ate here twice and the food is really excellent and the staff are very friendly. The closest beaches are a good drive away but the advantage of the property is that you are out in the country surrounded by fields and hills and away from all the tourist traps. If you want a peaceful, totally relaxing break in lovely surrounds then I can fully recommend this villa.

A Keeper

This property is actually under represented by the listing. It was absolutely exceptional in every way. We definitely hope to return someday. Decorated as if in a magazine, we felt like we were living in luxury. There are plenty of dishes, wine glasses, (essential), and everything you could possibly want in the kitchen. The owners are wonderful, and in retrospect, we wish that we had invited them to dinner. The location is great, as Silves is a very nice town with excellent restaurants and convenient groceries. Our favorite beaches turned out to be those on the west coast, about an hour away; but it was well worth the drive to be in such a lovely house. The outdoor space was exceptional, comfortable and beautiful, and we spent every evening enjoying it. Fresh eggs every morning were a nice plus. If you want a quiet, private sanctuary in the country, yet close to the south and west beaches and port cities, you've found your place!

Wie bereits alle vorherigen Mieter des Casa do Campo erwähnt haben, ist das Haus, die Ausstattung, der Garten und natürlich Nelson, Lena und Sonja einfach perfekt! Wir haben uns ab der ersten Minute hier sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten ab der ersten Minute die Seele baumeln lassen! Casa do Campo ist ein kleines Paradies mit dem Gemüse- und Obstgarten und die Kinder liebten es sich liebevoll um die Hühner zu kümmern, was sie uns mit reichlich frischen Eiern gedankt haben ☺️. Vielen Dank nochmals, lieber Nelson, liebe Lena und Sonja, dass ihr uns Euer Schmuckstück anvertraut habt - wir freuen uns auf ein hoffentlich baldiges Wiedersehen! A Gem in the Algarve

We enjoyed five weeks at Casa do Campo and it was not long enough! The pictures do not do it justice. The decor is stunning. We enjoyed fresh eggs, strawberries and the very best oranges. If you enjoy the less touristy side of the Algarve this is the place to be....within minutes of Silves and other local towns and villages. Lots of very good restaurants nearby. Nelson, Lena and Sonia are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend Casa do Campo and we cannot wait to return!

A perfect spot to unwind

Casa da Campo was a perfect place to spend time with friends and to explore the Algarve. Our week was relaxing the house had all the amenities needed for a holiday in a beautiful setting. It is perfectly located if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of tourist centres. We had dinner at the local restaurant which is just a five minute walk away, the food did not disappoint. Silves is close by and retains the characteristics of a town that has not been spoilt by tourist development. Nelson was very hospitable. I would recommend this beautiful home to the traveller who wishes to be away from the busy tourist centres of the Algarve that being said the beach towns were all within easy driving distance.

We loved it!

Together with my husband and daughters of 5 years and 10 months we had a lovely stay at Casa do Campo. More than lovely because words don't do it justice... A breakfast with fresh eggs and strawberry's from the garden (my daughter as a little farmer, loving it!). Then having a great time at the pool with the kids. More than enough space for everybody in the house even when friends came over with there baby girl they could stay the night. We had wonderful diners from the outdoor kitchen/bbq. The outdoor space is great. And then the decoration and warm welcome from Nelson.... You have to experience it yourself!

A gorgeous respite that pictures cannot describe

From the moment we arrived at Casa de Campo, Nelson greeted us with wine, cheese and bread, along with a tour of the property. We were speechless! It is absolutely gorgeous and we immediately knew the week would be fantastic. The views are spectacular. The house is immaculate and so restful! Fresh orange juice, daily eggs, and all surrounded by nature and yet easily reachable by car to some of the best beaches in the world. Silves is a small town where even a few hours at the market gives a sense of culture and wonder. We grilled dinner outside, cooled off in the dipping pool and had time to unwind from our days in Lisbon and recharge before leaving for Porto. This house is amazing. Like other reviewers our best meal was at Rainha-- a place just down the street! This place is magical. If you are going to the Algarve region, do yourself a favor and stay here with a rental car. Take day trips but come home to paradise. Thank you Nelson and Sonia for a wonderful time that our family will always remember!

The photos don't do it justice!

We had a wonderful, relaxing week at Casa do Campo. The house is a few minutes from the town of Silves, a quiet valley village, and about 20 mins from the nearest (and stunning) beach. It's a perfect home base for exploring the Algarve and after checking out the entire region and it's vast differences, we were so glad that we were staying in Silves. It is "away from it all" and yet so close. But, more importantly for us, a family of four, the house was incredibly comfortable. It's well-equipped and the recent restoration to the house is gorgeous. There is a lovely outdoor living area as well, though it was too cold in February to eat outdoors. You can see how many considered choices were made in the design and decor-- Nelson and Lena did a fabulous job and the photos on the listing do not do this home justice!!! The pool is small but I imagine the perfect place to cool off when it's hot in the summer. The gardens are so lovely and our kids absolutely loved checking for eggs in the chicken coop every day. We were also welcomed to pick vegetables and fruit (the best fresh squeezed orange juice ever) from the garden. Surrounding the house are vineyards and more orange groves. We saw one neighbor the entire week (their is plenty of space between neighboring houses). It was such a quiet, restful and relaxing week! I will absolutely miss sitting in the hammock each morning enjoying the morning sun, soaking in the view of the rolling valley and vineyards. Nelson met us on the first day and left a lovely welcome gift of cheese, bread, wine. And, of course, fresh eggs from the chickens! Nelson checked on us once more during the week and is such a gentle and kind host. Sonia, their daughter, was available quickly via email every step of the way and was so generous with her kindness as well. They offer several suggestions of what to do and where to eat and we can confirm that the simple chicken restaurant next to the veg market in Silves is delicious. If you're looking to be away from the tourist scene and have a more authentic Algarve experience, this home is a wonderful choice. I would absolutely stay here again and have already recommended this home to friends.

Wonderful vacation home!

This was a beautiful and very peaceful vacation home in every way. We thoroughly enjoyed the countryside surrounding the property and the simple but modern/rustic decor in the home, not to mention the outdoor patio with grill and refreshing pool area and the wonderful organic garden complete with chicken coop for fresh eggs each morning! The bedrooms were kept cool at night with a/c that works well. It is evident that great care has been taken to create this peaceful oasis. It is even more beautiful than the photos show. We loved every moment of our stay. Highly recommend!!

Truly a perfect vacation villa in the countryside

If you are looking for a true reprieve - a get away from hustle and bustle, this perfect house is a gem. We were 2 families with young children looking for a place we could enjoy on its own and as a base to explore the Algarve coast. My only regret is not staying longer!! The villa is perfectly accommodated with cooking supplies, towels for the bath, really nice linens, blankets and so tastefully decorated. The pool was amazing dip - salt water - and cool (our visit was early May) but totally doable on the warm, sunny days. The covered patio surrounded by garden, beautiful flowers, and fresh air - has a hammock, the bbq (we used!) and a large table for dinners al fresco. The most incredible part for us was that the owners - Nelson and Lena are not only sweet, helpful and accommodating hosts, but for a very reasonable fee came and cooked for us the very BEST meals we had during our stay. We were there for 6 days and they came 2 x to make a full course local meal of clams, Iberian black pork, local cheese and wine, the next night 2 kinds of wild shrimp, seafood with rice. There is nothing more dreamy in my mind... We ended up taking the main house and the maisonette (a separate loft with one bed and a bath) for the 2 families and that was perfect. They are attached, but gave us the privacy and space for each family we need (one family was 2 kids and one an infant.) Would recommend renting both areas if you are sharing with another family. Their daughter Sonia helped with the communication - they were always reachable and had recommendations for local restaurants, beaches and contacts in the house. Thank you so sincerely for a wonderful stay!!

Beautiful villa with charming interior and exterior

We already loved the pictures we have seen from the Casa do Campo on the homeaway.com website but when we arrived there the property was even more beautiful than we thought. First we had a warm welcome by the owners, an extremely nice family who just remodeled the villa a year ago. You can see easily how much efforts have been put into this with lots of love for details. This could be easily as style of a house or apartment we would move in. We felt so comfortable in that place that we rarely felt the need to go to one of the lovely beaches, which are at least 30 minutes away from there. We harvested fresh vegetables from the gardens next to the house and had BBQ every day. Two other highlights were the hen house and the pool. The hens were always excited to see us and the more we socialized with them the more eggs they laid. The pool is very refreshing but not made for swimming. We can totally recommend the Casa do Campo and if we go back to Portugal one day it would be definitely the first address for us.

What a nice stay.

For us it was the first time Portugal but yet another holiday home. References enough and expectations perhaps too. 😊 On arrival we were very well received by Helena and Nelson with a small snack on the table and freshly squeezed fruit juice. Very nice to arrive like that. We immediately fell in love with the well-kept house and the beautiful outdoor surroundings. The house was very homely with very nice spacious bedrooms. The house also never feels too hot and on a really hot day it was enough to let the air conditioning run for just 15 minutes just before going to sleep and the room was cool enough to fall asleep. A rather small but very pleasant cooling splash pool. The corner where the pool and sunbeds are located is very nice. Not to mention the covered terrace which exudes cosiness in every corner. In short, a very pleasant stay. The correspondence with Sonia was always very good. Nelson speaks enough English to explain everything clearly and well. Helena, on the other hand, only speaks Portuguese but those two people radiate such positivity with a beautiful smile that you don't even think about any language. Shopping, beach, jeep safari, Lisbon you can go do all that too, but I can't write more than 1500 characters here :-) I could tell you so many more positive things, so maybe it's best to experience it for yourself. Das Haus ist einfach ein Traum. Der Außenbereich und der Garten sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail angelegt. Der Pool ist super zum Abkühlen. Die Gastgeber Nelson & Lena sind einfach super, kümmern sich sehr viel und geben sich sehr viel Mühe, damit sich die Gäste wohl fühlen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Un havre de paix

Tout a été pensé par les propriétaires de la Casa do Campo pour être un vrai lieu de détente et de quiétude. Le jardin luxuriant est magnifique, nous avons pu y déguster des litchis fraîchement cueillis sur l'arbre et y ramasser des oeufs frais chaque jour. La petite piscine profonde entouree est la bienvenue pour se rafraîchir en été. Nous avons apprécié de manger dehors sous les grands toits-tonnelles. Le barbecue au feu de bois est vraiment bien pensé. L'intérieur de la villa est vaste, très beau et on n'y manque de rien. Il y a la climatisation dans toutes les chambres. L'accès à toutes les belles plages du coin se fait facilement, sur des routes très fluides en 20 à 30 minutes. En bref, ce fut des vacances parfaites !

Paradiesisch!

So haben wir uns gefühlt in diesem Kleinod! Wir haben alles genau wie beschrieben vorgefunden......vom Garten bis zur Inneneinrichtung.....alles wunderschön! Lena und Nelson, unsere wunderbaren Gastgeber, haben mit viel Liebe zum Detail so eine bezaubernde Wohlfühloase geschaffen! Sie haben uns Gemüse gebracht und wir durften sämtliches Obst von den Bäumen pflücken, inklusive die Eier der niedlichen Hühner! Nelson hat uns sogar einmal leckere Scampis und Muscheln gekocht! Die Küstenlandschaft mit den traumhaften Stränden ist unbeschreiblich! Es gibt so viele......man kann jeden Tag an einen anderen! Da das Haus gut zentral liegt, kommt man mit dem Auto gut und schnell überall hin! Unter anderem empfehlenswert ist auch ein Ausflug nach Lissabon, zur Westküste und in das Monchique Gebirge! Wir kommen sicher gerne wieder, denn wir haben ja noch längst nicht alles gesehen! Lieben Dank auch an Sonia, die vom Allgäu aus stets für uns erreichbar war! Liebe Grüße von Familie Heinrich

Kleines Paradies

Das Ferienhaus und der Garten sind ein kleines Paradies, von der liebevollen Einrichtung innerhalb und und um das Haus herum bis zum Salzwasserpool. Es gibt grosszügige Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten in Sonne und Schatten und diverse Spielmöglichkeiten. Perfekt, um erholsame Ferien zu geniessen. Das Haus liegt etwas ausserhalb und sehr ruhig. Nach Silves sind es ein paar Autominuten, zu den Stränden eine halbe Stunde, 45 Minuten zum Flughafen Faro. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht. Der Kontakt easy und prompt. Nur zu empfehlen.

Beautiful home near Silves, living the good life in Portugal

We really enjoyed our stay in the house, Nelson & Lena are super sweet kind persons that have given us a warm welcome and made us feel at home. The house is gorgeous and has a modern and rustic ambiance. It is well equiped and has a small pool with an outaide shower. The great plus is the fresh vegatbles, fruit and eggs we were allowed to take from the garden. We enjoyed every minute of our stay!
