My wife and I stayed here a few years ago for our honeymoon and loved it, so we decided to return. We were excited to experience the recent renovations we had heard about. Positives: The staff was wonderful, and the main areas of the hotel were stunning. The location is excellent—close to shopping, public transit, and other hotels. The pool is beautiful, and the fitness facility, while small, was outstanding with high-quality equipment that exceeded expectations. The drawbacks: Our room was disappointing. It felt dated and had a slightly stale odor, suggesting it may not have been part of the renovation. While spacious and equipped with comfortable beds, it lacked the freshness expected of a 5-star property. Dining options were also underwhelming. Choices were limited to very expensive fine dining (Japanese and Cantonese at Keyaki and Hai Tien Lo) or the buffet at Edge, with little in between. The Pacific Emporium was particularly unimpressive. The food looked factory-prepared and was overpriced (for example, $12 SGD for a basic teabag Earl Grey tea in a takeout cup). Overall, the experience felt more like a 4-star stay than a 5-star. That said, I would still recommend this hotel for its location, amenities, and service. A tip: The bakery at the Ritz-Carlton next door is excellent and reasonably priced...I visited almost daily.

From doormen, concierge service to front desk, all staff were welcoming, professional and courteous. Rooms were clean and maintained. The location is very convenient and is easily accessible to everything and everywhere else. The property itself is quite nice. Unfortunately, we had a family sting above us who were extremely loud, and the noise was not overly attenuated. The staff were a very gracious and helpful, and did managed to quiet things down.

When left room at 8am we activated button for housekeeping so room would be done well before we returned mid afternoon. But when we returned it had not been done and when I rang to advise that the request for housekeeping had not been carried out, she just "kindly reminded" me that room would be done anytime between 9 and 5. We were exhausted from day's sightseeing so told them not to bother with room. There were also other niggling problems with service, the Club 26 pastries were supposed to be available 7-10 but only turned up at 7.45 after I queried with a staff member, the room service order came with insufficient cutlery and crockery and the inroom tv inaccurately always denied there was a bill. But the worst thing was on checking out we intended to use our existing Discovery dollars on my account from previous stays but were told as stay had been booked by Expedia we could not use them. I did not expect to accrue points for the stay but I certainly expected to be able to use existing credit, and indeed we had treated ourselves to room service the previous evening to use this credit, would not have ordered if could not use the credit. We stayed here earlier this year with no problems but this 2 night stay was disappointing with the number of problems encountered in this short time. Poor service for this level of hotel
