Environment is noisy when the windows left open. Yet humid and hot if windows closed. Overall- bad option if looking for restful night after a long day drive.
First time staying at this lovely 16th century hotel in beautiful Burnsall. Everything about my visit went well, my room was lovely, clean and comfortable. As a sole older woman traveller, some hotels are less accepting of the fact I'm by myself but the staff here were kind and friendly and it makes a huge difference. I will definitely go back.
Great location, lovely outdoor space, friendly staff, good food. Would definitely stay again. A few observations - Disappointed with standard of toilets in public areas, our towels were changed everyday on a three night stay even though we hung them up, please use refillable toiletries. A bigger bar area would have bern appreciated when not possible to sit outside.
A very nice hotel in an historic building. The rooms were clean and well designed. That occupies an excellent location right in the center of town. Staff is very pleasant. The food was surprisingly good.
Feedback is as follows :
Although the bed was comfortable the room was tired.
Even an inspiring picture would improve the appearance.
The bathroom could benefit from a good clean. Overall we did not receive value for money. I think maybe for the future reduce the price for room 16 as it isn’t up to standard. We paid £160.
Thank you
Great location. Staff welcoming. Cottage option booked. Little tired furniture and noisy floorboards upstairs resonated through the place waking up the kids early. Everything functions fine. Great views.
We have just returned for a night's stay at the Red Lion. Everything was perfect and the breakfast was wonderful. We would definitely stay again

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We stayed at the red lion for a family wedding, the rest of our family was in the Manor House and there rooms were nice however we was situated in the pub and the room wasn’t even level everything fell off the bedside tables, the bed was un even and so uncomfortable the room wasn’t nice at all, what made it worse is that we was above the delivery entrance and the pub started getting deliveries at 6 and they wasn’t quiet! Such a shame as the area was amazing
The property and surrounding area is absolutely stunning. The Red Lion Manor house was lovely, clean, and beautiful. I cannot recommend it highly enough
A proper country pub with a great view, although our room was very tired in need of a refurb. The carpets need renewing as badly stained, very grubby. The staff are very friendly except for the waitress in the bright yellow shirt who was very unwelcoming. We had booked a table for dinner in the restaurant but seated in the dog area, we love dogs but not sat next to me on the seat!! WhenI’m ordering my evening meal. The waitress was very annoyed when I asked for a table in the restaraunt, in fact she was rude to a few customers, the best part of our stay was the view.
Just the most quaint and beautiful setting! Very well kept property and grounds. The pub dining area couldn't be more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful and a young woman named Jess was particularly delightful and helpful. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. Just a short drive over to Grassington which is must!
Excellent staff, lovely evening meal and breakfast. Room was spot on with a bath....perfect for walking the dales way. And to top it all, proper hand pumped beer
