The room itself was very nice but the temperature control was ridiculous. The thermostat was set to 72 and every night the temp went over 80 degrees for no reason. Maintenance implied I was confused about how these HVAC systems work and that it is easy enough to get up at 3:00 am every night to open a window. By the 4th night I figured I would just turn the HVAC off altogether. Also, the number of students in the hotel was overwhelming. I understand that it’s a nice spot to hag out (and I have encouraged my own ND student to go there) but they should have some guest-only lounge seating. To not be able to find a seat in a well-appointed lounge was ridiculous and since I paid a premium for this hotel compared to those nearby, it was a waste of money. Heading to ND soon and for the lounge reason alone I have secured a different lodging option.
