Excellent staff and service in hotel. However, the hotel hires a third-party company to manage their pool and facilities. The third-party staff and manager on duty were extremely rude to hotel guests and trying to tell guests that the facilities were full and that you need to reserve time slots ahead when they were in fact empty. We spoke with the hotel staff and learned that we should not have to make reservations to use facilities. It was a strange and upsetting interaction.

Toilet was broken on arrival, we sent several messages asking for it to be fixed while we were out as reception was so busy when we went for dinner. No messages, replies, calls or fixed toilet. Which made our satu less comfortable. We love this hotel and stay often with friends, and have recommended it in the past, so this was very upsetting as the lever did not work so someone must have known if it was cleaned prior to our arrival.

Leonardo Royal not so royal

The hotel looks modern from the outside and unlike its name, there isn’t anything royal about it. It’s tired and in need of updating. There is extremely little light in the rooms. There was a floor lamp in the corner that was super old. I was “upgraded” to a room with a small balcony - there was no furniture and it rained the entire day anyway. There was no hot water upon arrival as it was a city issue but when I inquired about check in, staff said nothing. Heard about it from another guest. It’s a convenient location. The bell desk staff was very accommodating.

We stayed here right before boarding our cruise, and it's such a convenient location - literally within walking distance! The hotel itself is nice, showing its age a bit but still comfortable and clean. We liked the bathtub and actual king-size bed (unlike what many in the UK claim to be). Staff is very helpful and friendly. Would stay again!
