Very friendly, willing to please staff. Superb breakfast even during renovations. Great location for city centre, eating out and for the port. A pity the significant renovations were not mentioned prior to arrival. Refurbished room almost perfect. Big beds, large window, excellent smart TV, tea, coffee, fridge, water and best of all the toiletries. However, the wardrobe is far too small and there was no thought given to space for hanging up a hand towel and two bath towels.

False fire alarm at 6am!

Got woken up by a FALSE fire alarm at 6am and the staff claimed it was due to the steam from someone taking shower....unacceptable, as everyone takes shower there, isn't it? Would the alarm be expected to be triggered by steam from shower? Did not receive any compensation for the lost sleep (sleep was so precious after a long haul flight). Would recommend agains this hotel unless they sincerely apologize and comoensate for our loss.

Obviously, as property is being renovated it means outside of building looks like a bit of a building site. But the renovated rooms and the public areas were lovely, and the staff great. Free parking and coffee as compensation is a thoughtful gesture. Would definitely stay here again.

Holiday Inn Southampton

One night stopover in a great hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms recently refurbed were immaculate. Fabulous bathroom and a comfy bed. Great breakfast with plenty of different food items.

Great place to stay to before cruise

Hotel is under construction, which looks horrible from the outside, but most of the inside is beautiful. Restaurant food was delicious and the drinks were very good. Beds were extremely comfortable and rooms clean. Would definitely stay there again.

Lovely stay and the hotel is immaculate. Bathroom is very cosy. Bed is super comfy! We have a lovely view of the docks. Buildings works happening but closed off and the works didn’t start until a very reasonable time in the morning. We will be staying again!

Terrible experience overall - the hotel was in refurb which I wasn't aware of but it made a number of facilities makeshift. Moreover though I specifically booked a double bedded room but was given a twin and there was no availability for me to move. The bathroom was large (it was an accessible room) however there were large frosted windows with no curtains and there was no heating in there - the whole bedroom itself was freezing too and the small heater didn't appear to work properly nor effectively.
