NEW! Charming home in Spirit Lake!
Escape to this charming, pet friendly 4-bedroom, 2-bath home, just minutes from beautiful Spirit Lake and only 15 minutes from the exciting Silverwood Theme Park! Perfect for a romantic retreat or a family adventure, this spacious home features a large garden, a cozy chicken coop, and plenty of room to unwind. Ample parking is available for a boat trailer, side-by-side, or RV, allowing you to fully enjoy your time at the lake and nearby attractions! Book your stay now!
Welcome to Railroad Hill House, Spirit Lake's 1913 Craftsman jewel that transports you back to the turn of the century. Featuring original wood floors throughout the living room, den, and elegant formal dining room, this home exudes timeless charm.
The main floor offers convenience and comfort with one full bathroom and a cozy bedroom featuring a queen-sized bed. Upstairs, you'll discover additional beautifully decorated bedrooms designed to provide a peaceful night’s sleep. A second full bathroom awaits as well, complete with a large clawfoot tub—perfect for unwinding with a relaxing soak after a long day.
Your stay will include a fully stocked home with paper towels, coffee, toilet paper, soap products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, dish soap), laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent, as well as bed linens and towels.
Relax on the oversized, covered front porch while enjoying your cup of coffee or glass of wine. The fenced in yard is perfect for pets, complete with a convenient doggy door. Garden beds lay throughout the property, providing a habitat for pollinators, bees, butterflies, and numerous birds. Within, or from the yard, we have seen hummingbird, gray partridge, California quail, northern flicker, mountain chickadee, American robin, spotted towhee, dark-eyed junco, Brewer's blackbird, American goldfinch, golden eagle, and bald eagle. Whether you're an avid birder or just enjoy peaceful moments outside, this yard brings nature to your doorstep.
Flower enthusiasts will be delighted by the seasonal parade of blooms. From the first crocuses of February to witch hazel blossoms dusted in December snow, the garden offers a year-round spectacle. You'll find daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, irises, peonies, lilacs, daisies, delphinium, lilies, asters, goldenrod, and so much more. The garden is a true labor of love—with 18 varieties of bearded iris alone!
Herbs weave through the landscape as well. Enjoy the beauty of the flowers and foliage, sip a mint iced tea on the porch, season your meals with fresh oregano or thyme, or take a quiet stroll among the lemon balm, echinacea, calendula, and bee balm.
Forage in the garden for a salad amongst various kales, lettuces, sorrel, beets, and more. Pick a handful of raspberries, serviceberries, currants, gooseberries, elderberries, honeyberries, mulberries. Or help yourself to fresh apples, pears, peaches, plums, or cherries. (Seasonal) Depending on how the girls are laying, fresh eggs are available if you care to take a gentle step into the fenced chicken coop.
Take a leisurely stroll or bike ride to the nearby Spirit Lake public beach and boat launch, or explore downtown’s shops and restaurants on Maine Street.
