We stayed two nights at the Madison Inn. It had been recommended to us by a family member and we were attending an event nearby so decided to try it. It was quiet, clean, and staff were helpful, kind and courteous! We did have a few difficulties getting back to the hotel because of our unfamiliarity with the streets, etc. but our GPS helped us get back eventually! We will stay again!!

Great for our needs

This hotel is in a great location, close to downtown and beautiful South Hill parks. I was worried about noise from traffic and helicopters (air ambulances), but the walls and windows kept the noise to a minimum. Our room was on the road and hospital (north) side. I’m a light sleeper and actually slept well enough. However, the main road isn’t super busy either. The heating/cooling unit was quieter than other places. My daughter and I felt safe the entire stay. The rooms are clean, the staff was friendly and chatted it up a bit with us. The breakfast was quite a spread and typical for hotels. It was a decent way to start our day. I would stay here again. The clientele seemed like us: everyday folks looking for a safe, comfortable stay at a place without all the bell and whistles for a decent price in a great spot.

For us the fact that we could just walk to the hospital and not have to drive around looking for parking was a big plus. Breakfast was good as well. There was a large variety of foods to choose from.

The front desk messaged us, which was great since we were planning to come in late. So I felt comfortable knowing there’d be someone ready to check us in. There was popcorn at the front desk when we arrived to check in. And they gave us a late check out. The beds were very comfortable. The pillows were a nice assortment of firm and soft. Everything felt very clean, though the room was a bit small. The breakfast was great! We were excited to find biscuits and gravy. If I *had* to pick out things that could be better I’d say the parking was tight, our room didn’t have a tub, and we never got our remote/tv to work properly. *But* I did find parking outside our window and could see our car. I don’t even know if tubs are standard, I just wanted one. The tv issue doesn’t really matter in the age of cell phones. So we had a great stay.

Very convenient for having to fly out on an emergency basis and have somewhere very close to the hospital. The staff is very accommodating. The breakfast is truly home cooked and amazing. I highly recommend this place. Thank you to all the staff for making it affordable and close to the hospital emergency needs.
