My stay at Hyatt Regency Trinidad in Port of Spain was disappointing. From the start, service and attentiveness were severely lacking, with the reception taking over 24 hours to provide the price and availability for an airport pick-up. The restaurant was highly overpriced. On my first night, I ordered a miso soup, a few mediocre sushi pieces, and a local beer, totalling an astonishing 107 US dollars. The business centre is very small, measuring only two square metres, with just two tiny desks and chairs. The swimming pool and gym also fall short of expectations for a hotel in this price range. Furthermore, the reception staff merely relay requests without addressing any of them, leaving all inquiries unanswered. A few days later, I stayed at the Brix hotel. If you're in Port of Spain for work, I highly recommend this second option. While not perfect, it won't be as disappointing as the Hyatt.

Excellent service as usual at Hyatt. Food was high quality and a wide variety of things available. Staff was service was excellent. Every staff member i interacted with was amazing. Parking is always a problem though as the multi level carpark seems to have all spaces labeled as "reserved". There were some marked spaces for Hyatt but all taken. Not a deal breaker though.

Room impeccably clean. Staff friendly and accommodating. Transportation is on par. Taxi available to take you anywhere and readily available. Outdoor pool is beautiful and fantastic view.. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Will be back.

The from desk ladies, Allison from room service, the one lady from the coffee shop, the last at the spa on Friday and the guys from the bar were amazing. However, everyone else was not pleasant, at all. First night, it was a corporate/“leader” party. So, I asked the first visible workers what was going on and they claimed they didn’t know; I was able to stay though, but no one even bother to see who I was and if I was even allowed there. It was semi-fun for the most part, because the music was good; but no one was welcoming, especially as “leaders”. You say good morning/night, complete silence; just stares. The ice machine on my floor wasn’t working, so I went to another floor to get ice and seen one of the managers on the elevator. I explained to him that the ice machine wasn’t working and he let the elevator close in my face. I’m at the pool and was totally over looked. My floor a was had a very weird/funny smell and there was absolutely no ventilation in there; I came back home with sinus congestion. I wanted spa treatment, but it was “booked for the day”, even though the lady the day before was willing to assist me and it was completely empty. Overall, my whole experience was horrible; a complete waste of money; NEVER again!
