Great stay, close to pub and shops. Balcony room with harbour views. Hotel is a bit tied in places but didn't ruin our stay. Victory inn next door is a good place to get a drink and food is good
Didnt like the walk from the town car park to the hotel, with heavy bags this was a struggle, staff friendly and helpful, toilet struggled to flush, fantastic views from the room, nice breakfast, lovely eateries new by

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
My room was well furnished and recently decorated. The rest of the hotel was distinctly shabby. There was no telephone in the bedroom and no information about hotel sevices like wifi. On one day my room was not serviced despite me being out for twelve hours and hanging the right sign on the door. Breakfasts were expensive and of very poor quality. There was no parking at the hotel.
We had 2 extra days in St Mawes after time spent with our family in self catering accommodation. We paid for a superior room with sea view and were expecting a room with balcony. We were disappointed to be told they were all taken. The room did have a sea view and was alright. Nothing superior about it. The hotel was not serving dinner while we were there and we chose not to have breakfast.
I booked this place with balcony and when we arrived was told first in best dressed! appaling really considering this was what the booking stated , women at desk was not helpfull when I questioned this we forfeited the room and was not even offered a refund for the false advertising and booking discription
The staff were welcoming and allowed us to check-in early. Unfortunately, the bar and restaurant were closed and only breakfast available, which was very disappointing.
The rooms were decorated and cleaned to a good standard, although we both found the mattress too firm.
Location is the best spot view of the sea front. Hotel staffs are professionally friendly, has a very good & healthy environment, well kept, clean & tidy room & dog friendly. Our puppy ‘ a long coat Chihuahua, has great fun during our stay.
Had a lovely nights stay. Enjoyed sitting on balcony watching the world go by.
Only draw back was not being able to get food after 8.45pm anywhere in st mawes
Amazing staff , so helpful and accommodating to my request to make my dad’s 80th birthday trip a success .
Waking up with a sea view was a lovely .
Amazing village and friendly locals .

Brilliant location but the bed was so uncomfortable, you could feel every spring in the bed .
Appreciate the location means some noise , but there was a coach parked outside from just gone 6am that had its engine running for the majority of the first hour it was there picking up guests and yet didn’t depart til gone 7.30 by which time we were too awake to stay in bed any longer .

Tragic
We ordered a superior sea facing room. It was definitely sea facing, but no way was it superior. Small bed, filthy window sills and someone's dirty pants on the floor.
Breakfast was plentiful but like school dinners. I suppose if you get a cheal hotel in St Mawes you get what you pay for!
80£ for a night; terribly dirty carpet, room felt like a storage room, almost no shower running water, spider net hanging down the roof, dirty kettle. Paid 26£ extra for breakfast for two - medium variety with no cheese and ham. Staff distant and moody.
Worst stay ever!
I chose a room with two single beds, but unfortunately the beds aren't very comfortable. You can feel the springs inside the mattress...so zero comfort. It's a shame, because the hotel is truly beautiful, the location perfect, and the guy at the check-in desk was really nice and kind. In short, everything was perfect except the comfort of the beds
Lovely location, beautiful views from the restaurant. We were room 204, comfortable beds, clean, overlooks the Victory Inn & side street, window frames could do with some tlc (it's an old building mind). Small bathroom, water pressure low but perfectly fine. Constant buzz/hum noise noticeable through the night, directly below on the ground floor is a unit that makes this noise (saw while walking by & door was open).
Breakfast was buffet & excellent, bar reasonably priced & great staff. Would we stay here again? Yes 🙂
