the hotel charges much to much for an outdated room with a bad smell, no blackout curtains, and peeling paint. They need to either lower the rates for the older rooms or do some major renovations. The lighting was annoying, with no overhead lighting and no central light switch. I have never spent so much time trying to turn on and off various lamps. I would have been ok with the subpar furnishings, but it is unacceptable to not have proper blackout curtains or blinds in a country where the sun is up most of the night in the summer. Sleep is a basic necessity. I was told to use an eye mask. Also, the hotel doesn’t have a bellhop or complimentary water so be prepared when you arrive if you choose to stay here

We absolutely loved Hotel Rival. We had a room with a balcony, and the balcony was fantastic with potted plants, comfy chairs, and blankets for chilly nights. The staff was attentive and kind. The included breakfast was amazing with a huge selection of food and drinks. Also, the room was artistic and well appointed with turn-down service each night. We will definitely stay at Hotel Rival again in the near future.

This is an awesome hotel with a fabulous lounge/bar and posh music/event venue. Our room was quiet and comfortable and the bed and bedding were amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here on my next trip to Stockholm.

The Hotel Rival and its staff are a delight. Really cool design property an old cinema now a hotel/theatre/bar. We had deluxe room, spacious great view. Breakfast had everything you could want buffet and cooked. There is a bistro and tavern and bar. Warm friendly place easily accessed using commuter SL train from airport to Stockholm Sodra the stop after Stockholm Central. Then a short easy walk to hotel.

Beautiful, clean hotel with a fun vibe in a great location central to everything. The staff were excellent and very helpful at all times. We loved the 24/7 coffee bar located on the 4th floor which was so convenient and we were surprised at the excellent quality of the coffee! Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the variety of options. Would recommend this hotel and we would definitely return in the future!

A fantastic hotel in all ways.

This hotel is very well run and managed. The room had everything we needed and more. The breakfast, included was outstanding with a huge variety of good quality produce. The staff everywhere were polite and helpful with a friendly manner. Nothing was too much trouble.
