About this property

Bayview House 1br 2ba Stunning Harbor Views

Bayview House: A Storybook Harborfront Escape in Stonington
Do you crave balmy summer evenings where the salt air drifts through open windows, or frosty winter nights that transport you back to a simpler time? Welcome to Bayview House, a tranquil two-story sanctuary perched on the rugged Maine coastline. With its iconic white exterior and Tiffany blue front door, this is more than a home—it’s an invitation to breathe, relax, and live at a slower pace.

Living the "Simpler Time" Life
Sink into our oversized leather chair for a storybook moment with a little one, or curl up on the sofa with your furry friend at your feet. Here, the "entertainment" is the cotton-candy colored sky and the steady rhythm of lobster boats passing by your window.

A Cook’s Coastal Dream: Our kitchen is a warm, rustic heart of the home, featuring wooden cupboards, sun-drenched counters, and a traditional lobster pot ready for your dock-to-table feast. Enjoy a slow morning coffee at the antique drop-leaf table as the harbor wakes up before you.

The Primary Suite Oasis: Retreat to the second floor, where a queen-sized bed awaits under large windows that frame the sunrise. The ensuite is a rustic sanctuary with a large skylight and a jacuzzi tub—perfect for soaking away the world’s cares while watching the clouds drift by.

Open-Air Magic: Our massive harborfront deck is the crown jewel. Roll out a yoga mat for a sunrise session in the crisp Maine air, or fire up the BBQ for a sunset dinner as the waves lap against the shore below.

Stonington: A Village Where Time Stands Still
Stonington is a rare gem—a working fishing village that feels untouched by the hustle of the modern world.

The "Secret" Acadia: You are just a 2-minute stroll from the Isle Au Haut Mailboat. This is your exclusive gateway to the remote, car-free portion of Acadia National Park—a wilderness of hidden swimming holes and rocky ledges.

Village Wandering: Take a leisurely walk down Main Street to discover boutique galleries, local pubs, and the historic Opera House.

The Working Waterfront: Stroll the docks of the Deer Isle Thorofare, watch the daily catch come in, and experience the authentic soul of Maine’s #1 lobster port.

Ohana Hospitality: Family & Furry Friends
At Ohana Inns, "Ohana" means family. We treat your pets as our own guests! We provide a specialized Pet Basket with cozy blankets for furniture snuggles and towels for sandy paws. We just ask that you keep your pups leashed on the deck and never leave them unattended.

Whimsical Details & Essentials:
Ocean Breezes: In true traditional style, this home has No AC—the refreshing Atlantic cross-breezes are all the cooling you’ll ever need.

Modern Comforts: While we embrace the "past," we offer a large SMART TV, board games, and high-speed Wi-Fi for your convenience.

Accessibility: Please note this historic-style home does not have an elevator.

Fall in love with the simple joys of life at Bayview House. Your harborfront story starts here.

Perfect house on the idyllic Maine coast

What a gem! For such a small town, there was no shortage of things to do! Great restaurants within walking distance, sea kayaks, the ferry to isle au haut. We were only there a few short days in passing, but I could’ve easily spent a week or more just relaxing! Clean, cozy home. Easy in easy out! My only negative thing to say (which isn’t fair due to no fault of the rental) is the driveway is fairly step, and a low profile car needed some creativity getting in and out! There was however room on the street if needed.

Magic By the Sea

My wife and I had an absolutely beautiful stay at this home - one of our favorites ever. It was stocked with all necessary linen items we could need, a full kitchen, and was very clean. Every night and every morning we sat on the porch and watched the lobster boats float in and out of the water with a candle lit & beverage in hand. The beds were comfortable. House was secure and easily walkable to the quiet fishing shops and restaurants. It is worth noting that Stonington is not the typical tourist town - it’s only got a few shops and restaurants - but that’s part of what makes it so magical! As this was my first visit to Maine, I would recommend to research this VRBO location in proximity to other activities you may want to do here. For example, we drove to Bar Harbor & Acadia Park one day and it was about 1 hr 20 mins away - reasonable for a day trip! I would definitely recommend this spot to a couple looking for a romantic getaway. Thank you for this stunning property!

Sleepy Maine Town

We loved our first trip to Maine and are so glad we stayed in Stonington away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. The Mail Boat to Isle of Haut and Duck Harbor is a must.

Cozy cottage with a view.

We had a short but very nice stay. It was clean and had everything we needed (except the hairdryer that was listed). It was off-season so very quiet. Just a short walk to town. The bed was super comfy and the Smart TV and wifi came in handy. Would definitely go back. Note to rental company: There is a lot of dog poop in the yard. Maybe from local pups, but just an fyi.
