A lovely stay, nice big room overlooking the bay, if a bit dated. Food in restaurant was excellent but the portion size was way too big, my husband and I couldn’t finish our meal, so on the second night we only had starters.

It was my first visit to Stranraer. The hotel was really convenient for the train station, and the town centre.The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable

Outside of the building looked run down, rooms where very dated and the mattress tog must of been very high as I was sweating all night. Couldn't see the TV from the bed as it was so small. Food was lovely though

Excellent from start to finish, every single member of staff was a credit to you. Lovely hotel, fantastic pool/Jacuzzi/sauna, great food and a lovely bar to sit and enjoy a few drinks. Booked this just to let us get to an early ferry easily but it genuinely added on a very valued and enjoyable night to our Holiday.

Staff extremely friendly, helpful and very hard working. Lots of lounges to sit in and a good choice of food in the restaurant reasonably priced all well decorated. Rooms are very clean but could do with a few touches like pictures on the walls and update the bathroom.

Feels as if the hotel is in need of TLC, but nobody wants to spend the money. The radiators may be switched off, but the pipework is still hot, so a summer's evening is very warm in the rooms. The bathroom glasses are plastic. The carpet has been around since Robert the Bruce's time. The toilet handle was hanging loose. Some of this can be easily fixed, some needs a bit more investment. If Stranraer had a Holiday Inn, it would be an instant preference.

My room was located in the Hotel Annex. The TV was poor quality and housed in a strange way on a coffee table. The Decor in the room was quite dated and the bathroom although functional was very tired. To me the annex which contained 3 bedrooms looked very much like staff accommodation.

Excellent staff, very good dinner and cooked breakfast. After 4.5 hours drive up from Yorkshire The welcome was very good. Parts of the hotel are a little tired and need repainting and some refurb. But as a stopover before my ferry to Ireland: Good Thank You
