A lovely hotel, highly recommended
We stayed on a top floor room which had a lovely view of the lake, and also a second balcony overlooking the road. Others have mentioned the road noise; yes there is some noise but really we didn't find it disruptive. Have a look at the road on street view and you will see that although it is the 'main' lakeside road it isn't that busy by UK standards. Close the double glazed windows and you'll hardly hear it. We slept with them open with no problem. Obviously a lake view room is preferable, but the view up the mountain from roadside rooms is far from shabby. The hotel itself is absolutely lovely. It is very clean and well kept, the staff were all, without exception, friendly and helpful. The pool is just the right size to cool down, and the continental breakfast buffet was ample and very tasty. They were happy to arrange our transfer to Malpensa airport by bus for us (12 euros each) with a few days notice. They do ask for any additional costs (drinks, evening meals etc) to be paid for in cash rather than card at the end of your stay, but in fairness they do tell you this in the hotel information booklet. The location is a 20 / 30 minute enjoyable stroll along the lakeside into Stresa town. Overall we had a really relaxing and enjoyable stay here, it really is one of the nicest, friendliest hotels we've every stayed in, and have no hesitation in recommending it.
