When we arrived at 8:30 am we did the pre check in at the reception. Very friendly man at the reception. We were told our room was not ready. Checkin was at 3:00 pm but we were informed if our room was ready early, they would contact us. We had been on an overnight flight, so we would have appreciated that. We went out to look around the city, and returned to the hotel at 2:20 pm, to be informed by a young lady that our room was still not ready. We waited in the lobby area, and at 3:05 pm we were still waiting. We went up to the reception at that time, and said we were ready to check in, and she handed us our keys. They could not have let us know at 3:00 pm that we could check in? Why let us just sit and wait? Not very good customer service for the rate we paid for. The room was dated, the carpet needed vacuuming, sparse furniture in the room. The view was lovely. We felt all we paid for was the view. We stored our luggage while we were out. Area was not secure with workmen also having access to this luggage room. Would have been nice to see our luggage in a locked secure area. Pool area was messy with work going on at the hotel, so to use the pool did not seem to be an option. Hot tub was drained empty. No restaurant available in the hotel. We checked out 17 hours later to catch a flight. The Rocks area was beautiful. Would stay somewhere else next time.
