First time staying at the Emerald Queen of Tacoma and I was very impressed. The phone desk staff when I had questions about the reservations were wonderful and I was able to get an early check-in. When I arrived the front desk staff were helpful and friendly The room was on the eighth floor facing the highway and I was worried about the noise but I used some white noise on my phone and slept wonderfully. I ate at the Puyalapub and had fish and chips that was delicious. The waitress was attentive and very nice. I was a bit concerned about having to walk through the smoking casino to get to the non-smoking part but after an evening of gaming, I was surprised when I got back to my room that my clothes did not smell like smoke. The non-smoking side was just wonderful. As for the games, I had lots of fun and came home with cash in my pocket very little, but some cash in my pocket. I would definitely stay there again,

Do NOT stay at the top of the tower

Staff was friendly, check in was easy BUT I did not get any sleep whatsoever. I was on the 10th floor and not sure what is outside hanging off the bldg, or what but there was something slamming up against the bldg all night. Sounded like chain. I complained to the front desk that night and it seems they knew what I was talking about because people have complained about it before. I asked if they could find out what it was or have me moved, they said they were full, I then asked for management and they were unavailable till the morning. I had an appt the following morning and was gone the entire day but when I returned management was gone for the day. After the second night and complaining once again, the staff again (different crew) knew about the issue but still didn't do anything about it. As I was checking out I finally was able to speak to mamagement about the noise and lack of sleep and they would be able to do anything about the bill since $180/night for zero sleep was not ideal. She stated there was nothing she could do, which is BS, and said she'd discount my next stay. There will NOT be a next stay.

The Hotel itself is ok. The pool is way smaller than it looks online. The Casino offers no real meals, the drinks are overpriced and really smokey. The hotel overcharged me an extra day. It took hours of phone calls to get the charge reversed. The staff called me names on the phone, hung up on my over and over. Finally Expedia was able to fix it. I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN! You are metal detected every time you walk from your room to the hotel. The hotel reeks of cigarette smoke. The front desk manager is so rude! Don't waste your time and money. They can and will rip you off! I've never had a Hotel treat me so bad. I travel a couple times a month to Tacoma. I will never, ever, ever, stay here again!

Went to an event at the Tacoma Dome so stayed here! I had my 6 month old son with us so the hotel was super accommodating when I asked to be away from the elevators/ lots of foot traffic! Check in was easy, check out was less than 1 minute!! We felt super safe too! All the staff are extremely kind and helpful. Definitely will stay here again

Amazing room in comfortability and cleanliness!

This room was one of the most comfortable and cleanest rooms we have ever stayed in. We only booked one night but would have extended another night if our schedule allowed. Very roomy. Personal Safe in room. Beautiful view of Mt Hood. Large bathroom and shower. The beds were extremely comfortable. Plenty of electrical and usb outlets. Great lighting options. Free, secure onsite parking with easy access to the Hotel. (Separate parking garage for Hotel on the backside of the casino). My only negative point would be that the Casino is not smoke free. You do have to pass one of the casino entrances to reach the Hotel lobby so the smoke is fairly strong during check in. However the smell faded once you exit the elevator into the hallways. All rooms are non smoking and had no lingering smoke smell at all. I have already referred a friend to this Hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

Disappointed once again.

Went for a concert. Check in line was long.. and within an hour of concert. There was only ONE person working to check people in. Restaurants are pretty lame. Getting a drink at the concert was long, minimal employees. This happened last time we came here for a concert. This will be the last time we stay here.

For 200$/night I was expecting more. The room was large and spacious, nice and clean. The gym and pool area were not much to speak about. For being attached to a casino there was a lot of children around which ruined much of our trip as we were hoping to find a relaxing adult environment. Not worth 200$ per night.

Views are not the best. Not enough variety for restaurants. Staff were friendly. I was not offered accommodations for being disabled. My room was at the very end of the hall, a ways from the elevator. My view was of the parking lot and the local houses in this area I may try the Fife location next time. I also was disgusted with the food from one of their popular restaurants (Popolupps) so? Fish and chips was not completely cooked and lacked taste or seasoning. I sent it all back. So much for the birthday dinner/celebration there. I would have done better to eat out and bring my left overs there with me. EQ can definitely step it up with the QUALITY of food ...

Casino night

I had a quick one night stay at Emerald Queen Casino. Parking was quick with an abundance of spots and near the elevator. I went from the parking elevator to the front desk and then another elevator to my room. I didn’t have to walk thru the casino with bags which can be uncomfortable. Everything was great!
