Wow! We stayed here out of convenience for a show happening at the Pantages Theater and we will be back. We knew nothing about McMenamins but are very interested in checking out their other properties. This is prime location, we had drinks and food at multiple places before and after the show, all within 1-3 blocks of the hotel. Inside the hotel is 3 bar / restaurants which are all awesome for food and drinks. The tiki bar at the bottom has some very fun and unique drinks. The hotel rooms are small and darker, but that is OK because you will be out doing and exploring this unique hotel. No question about it, stay here if you like fun and quirky and adult centric.
They overcharged us and wouldn’t honor our Expedia pricing. I love this hotel and have had many amazing stays.. this was the first time we were disappointed.
The only issue is the parking. You may have to park quite a ways from the hotel. Otherwise great experience. Beautiful hotel, lots of restaurants and every part of the hotel is unique.
We loved the Tiki bar in the basement. There’s lots and lots of stairs. No place to park. We parked in a lot below the hotel. Climbed lots of stairs to get to the hotel. It has beautiful decorations. Great food. Getting to your hotel room requires stairs. The hallways seem claustrophobic. If climbing stairs and enclosed spaces don’t bother you it ’s a fun hotel. There was a secret bar on our floor. Opened the door it was a narrow room full of people with no windows. It would be really fun there to go there for Halloween. If narrow spaces with no windows bother you then this place is probably not it. Maybe go there for the good food and leave.
We only stayed one night because we were in town for a concert, so we didn’t utilize all the amenities this place has to offer. The food at the ground floor bar/restaurant was good but service was slow - friendly staff though.
I would return to stay if I ever visit Tacoma again and would like to check out all the bars!
