Absolutely loved the hotel! Very quaint and quiet. I just recently moved from Thunder Bay and remember this as a functioning court house so it was cool to see the transformation. They’ve done an amazing job keeping the original architecture. I rented a room with a king size bed and sofa bed. The rooms have super high ceilings which always adds to the feel of a room. Everything was very clean and in working order. My only complaint was the lack of heat. I stayed Halloween night and the thermostat had a laminated card stating the heating system was set to a specific temp (68) for our comfort. That the system was currently being worked on and they apologized for the inconvenience. I slept in the robe provided and my daughter slept in her sweatshirt. When we woke in the am it was 63 in our room. I honestly feel like they were keeping the temp that low on purpose to keep heating costs low. The reason I say this is my husband stayed the following week and the heat was still being fixed. This will not prevent me from booking there again I just hope on my next visit it will be fixed because it will be November or December.

No heat no refund. The room had a broken thermostat and they couldn’t fix it. No other room to move to. They claimed to refund me $100 for two days for no heat but when they sent the receipt it was a different credit card number. I don’t own a Mastercard and the refund was put in a Mastercard. Terrible experience

This is my go to hotel whilst staying in Thunder Bay for business. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The location is within walking distance of downtown's restaurant scene. The room was spotless and very clean.

First room had absolutely no heat and it was 59°F. We were offered a small portable heater because they said they had no more room rooms so I went on their website and showed that I could book 2 other rooms. I was told that only one of them were available, which was not the same quality of room. The heat doesn’t work properly in this room either but at least it was a little warmer so they provided us with some portable heaters which has since kicked off the power and now I’m sitting in the room in the dark. Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a hotel. Yeah how long do we have to wait for that woman? We were chatting a little bit and he walks in and I’m like he looked at me. I’m like I’m sorry I was standing here for you said that to her.

The shower and sheets were discusting. I asked for the shower to be cleaned and the sheets to be changed, was told it wasnt time to change the sheets and that they would clean up the bathroom which they didnt. I couldnt use the thermostat because water would leak from the vent in the bathroom, house cleaning left it on begore i even got there and water did pour from the ceiling.

The building is fantastic, unfortunately I have had 2 negative experiences so far. The first time I stayed my room was outside the ice machine which is extremely loud at 3:30am. This time I was given a Handicapped access room and the shower flooded the entire bathroom floor which I was only able to mop up slightly with the limited number of towels I had. The hotel did give me another room the second night, but I wasn't happy at all. Beautiful rooms, helpful staff 2 bad experiences but i will be back.
